BANNGKOK, Platinum Walk Kuala Lumpur

Peiyue asked me:"Hey, aren't you going to your shopping heaven (she's referring to Bangkok) next year?" I was like.... Erm... Maybe not! Got a tad bit bored with the shopping scenes there because this year marked the third year I've visited Bangkok for shopping and holiday purpose, so better give both Bangkok and me some rest before we got really bored of each other lol.

Right after our conversation, Peiyue told me that Platinum Walk, Setapak has open up a new Thai restaurant recently and I'm like: Let's go! And here we are, dining at the newest Thai restaurant at Setapak - BANNGKOK. I wonder if this restaurant will awaken the senses of longing for Bangkok, Thailand in me.

Very simple, industrial interior decoration

I really like this mural. So Thailand!

Is this Instagrammable or what!

The interior of BANNGKOK is simple, raw, industrial, very much reminds me highways of Thailand among them industrial areas. Their menu literally covered every Thai food as well as local favourites such as Syrup Bandung and Nasi Bujang. Since it's Thai food night, we literally ordered everything that reminds me of Bangkok, Thailand.

Cha Yen (Thai Iced Tea), RM5.50

I'm a big fan of authentic cha yen, I can taste the difference between local teh ais and Thai iced tea because of the different ingredients used in making these two different beverages from different nation. BANNGKOK's Cha Yen tasted quite authentic because they used authentic Thai tea leaves as well as Carnation evaporated creamer, tad bit on the sweet side but all is well.

And these are our food choices:

Coconut Tom-Yam Goong, RM14.90

This dish is literally a bowl-made-of-coconut fruit loaded with prawns, coconut meat and dry chillies. Acceptable spiciness level for someone like me who can't take spicy food. Each and every spoonful of soup is literally taste of prawns, which I believe the chef put in a lot of effort boiling the soup to ensure that all the essence of prawns are instilled into this bowl of tom yam goong.

Eggs loaded with Prawns and onions
 White Rice

Minced beef with basil leaves, fried egg and rice

I forgot to notice the prices of these three dishes, amnesia moment omgfml. They tasted good! Especially my minced beef with basil leaves and fried egg rice. Average portion but with the tom yam soup, it is filling. Was told it will be too hot for people who can't take spicy food but I felt it was fine for me, maybe my tolerance of spicy food intake has gone up? LOL!

Anyway, BANNGKOK really does make me miss Bangkok a little more, but I'm glad that I can find similar authentic Thai food at this restaurant, so yea I shall not travel to Bangkok next year lol (Thailand please don't hate me I'm saving up for Korea and Japan lols). Our total bill for both food and drinks are RM46.

I really love this mural!
Shall be back soon!

A healthy lifestyle is what we all need and it is the trend of living recent years. Everyday I see more and more of my friends went for marathon and cycling events, whereas I personally preferred dancing, hiking and swimming. With all these movement exercise, that's why quality sports wear is one of my concern and now SuperDry has launched its DrySport series in Malaysia, we can finally get our hands on these Japanese inspired British designed sport goods.

I'm ready!

The event started with Celebrity Fitness trainers zumba sessions as well as Shawn Lee Beatboxing as opening that got everybody's adrenalin pumped up following by runway show which models and celebrities showcasing the latest SuperDrySport series. I really love the all the blue and black outfits from the line.

Look at this pair! So much love for it!

Here are some key looks and matching outfit for the line
I like the sports bra but too bad it doesn't come with its own padding :(

The designs are mostly plain with outstanding reflective logos for style and safety purpose. Made of comfortable materials, they are designed to fit body movements as well as instill fashion trends into daily workouts, I find pretty outfits does motivate me to move more. lol.

And I'm gonna give you a tip regarding swimwear (although SuperDrySport doesn't produce swimwear), I find it extremely comfortable wearing padded sports bra for swimming, and it really does make me wanna purchase more and more sports bra everytime I saw a nice looking one! Sports bra is literally life changing to me!

Hogged the photobooth with this cute Jean

LifeJuice sponsored drinks for the event and I wanted to try the Salad drink, but I couldn't open the bottle despite been using all my strength to open it. Asked Jean to try she can't as well. And while I wanna snapchat how hard it is for me to open the bottle of juice, suddenly I can turn the lid! LOL. One of the small funny incidents that happened that night.

What made the night complete was we came in twinning outfit! (Ah! Forgot to take OOTD photos together with Jean so you can see how similar both of us look!) We literally burst in laughters after I saw her coming up from the escalator lolololol.

Thank you so much Joe Chia for dressing me in his latest Chapter 09 SS17 Women Collection that night. The dress was made with Japanese Garbadine and wool mixture which isn't available for purchase yet!

It's been a while I'm in a dress
Thank you Jean for the photos!

Studded Kiss

When Peiyue was in the States, she asked me what would I want as souvenir, then I told her that I don't really need anything and guess what? She got me Kat Von D's Studded Kiss lipsticks! Plural! I got so elated when I received all the souvenirs she got me and I'm gonna share with you the lipsticks in this blog post.

Everything is Oh-So-Sexy!

She got me the Kat Von D classic lipstick colour - Lolita and another darker shade - Piaf. She told me she was standing there facing over 30 colours of lipsticks in front of her and she's not sure what colours I like. And she remembered I just blogged about it and she checked on my blog post and got me these two babies!

Engraved Kat Von D logo on the lipstick
Everything is on point!

Studded Kiss lipsticks are pigment rich, long-wearing and I love it so much for having apply it for once and never needed to re-apply it for a really long time, even after food consuming. Felt like it's totally made for girls like me who are lazy to touch up makeups. lol.

As you know Lolita is classic Kat Von D shade, I put it on when I'm feeling more feminine and Piaf when I'm feeling more badass. It is velvety soft and smooth upon application and I love how my lips are moisturized after the lipstick application too. Mwah.

Piaf - Cool Chocolate with Purple Shimmer

Lolita -  Classic Matte Dusty Rose coloured for more feminine touch

These lipsticks are instantly become my favourite! Thank you so much Peiyue for getting these for me. You know me so well! xoxo

Garvy's French Dining, Ipoh

When I think of french dining, I would oftern imagine waiters dressed in uniform, serving customers in fluent french and of course, 3 hours over 6 courses. All those romantic movies that taught me about french dining kinda made up that french dining day-dream in me, and finally I'm having my first french dining experience last month.

Well, it's at the least expected place of all that one wouldn't relate to french - Ipoh. lol.

Garvy's French Dining located at Ipoh

Spacious and well lit

Garvy's French Dining is one of the latest addition of french cuisine at Ipoh town, and it is definitely one of its kind because of its own authentic french chef Romain Fabre and french manager Benoit. Located at one of the busiest road in the city, Garvy's french dining has gain its reputation with authentic french cuisine.

I'm pretty excited towards this meal when I was told that groupon of Garvy's French Dining was bought, it makes me feel I'm one step closer to my dream vacation - Paris!

menu for Groupon buyers

Drinks aren't included in the groupon deal, hence we ordered fresh juices.
RM9.90

Soup of the day - Carrot Soup

This tasteful carrot soup is one of my favourite dish on that night! It is tasteful, each and every spoonful is smooth and creamy, it even comes with two pieces of toasted bread. Yums! Pretty much filling after had this whole bowl to myself.

Beef Bourguignon

I kinda think it taste funny of this beef bourguignon as the beef cubes are although tender, but they tasted bland, as if the taste of the sauces couldn't soaked into it due to short time of cooking. I guess the highlight of the dish was the mash potatoes but I would really love to pair it with the sauce if only it were more tastier.

Chicken Milanaise

Chicken chop-ish rice on the groupon menu, but I couldn't really recall the taste but I kinda remember it was dry and not-attractive enough for me to want another spoonful from it.

Chicken Breast and Mushroom Cream, RM22.90

Extra ordered this dish and it tasted exceptionally good! The sauce, the soft chicken meat are all on point! Which made me regret so much my choice! (maybe I should go for the mushroom spaghetti? I don't know but definitely not beef bourguignon.)

Well, we certainly took our own sweet time to finish all the main courses due to some of the dishes really requires extra effort for us to down it, really living the life of long-hours french dining thing. Guess I can cross "local french dining experience" off my bucket list now lol.

And our groupon-french dining ended with these super duper sweet desserts that none of us can enjoy it fully lol.

Clafoutis

Apple Tatin

Probably I should go back someday and have the chicken breast with mushroom sauce again! C'est delicieux!

The Parque Cafe, EcoWorld Kota Kemuning, Selangor

Went for a one day trip at Kota Kemuning during the long weekend holiday (because me, Clounie, Bryan and Fei got no better place to go for holiday lols), and finally visited the Jay-Chou-MV-inspired glasshouse cafe at EcoWorld Eco Sanctuary Kota Kemuning. There's one located at Kepong which is nearby my area but I never give it a thought to visit, why is it so? lol.

Very dreamy right?

You can't park inside the premise, hence you gotta park your car at the car park area located opposite, then wait for buggy car to come pick you up and send you straight to the entrance of The Parque Cafe. Sounds a bit fussy but the buggy car service is actually very frequent and will even wait for you. Hence it's a breeze and so fun to ride a buggy car with your friends.

We had our lunch before heading to the cafe, so we're just there to enjoy the architecture, ambience alongside with our afternoon tea plus a book (for me) and small talks.

small but lovely interior

simple one page menu

Beautiful chairs beside the glass window but the heat is unwelcoming

Although it was a public holiday, to our surprise there aren't much customers at The Parque Cafe. Hence we managed to secure a seat at another glasshouse that's just located beside the main glasshouse cafe. Cozy and cold (small sqft area but with strong air-conditioning) and literally owning the space to ourselves, everything was on point (probably except my drink lmao).

Clounie's Caffe Latte, RM10.90

 Fei's Rose Latte, RM12.80

Bryan's Long Black, RM7.90

And my instagrammable but taste bad The Parque Signature, RM16.90

Everything tasted okay except for my drink - The Parque Signature which consist of cafe mocha, whipped cream and strawberry syrup, which is tad bit strong tasting and sweet to my liking. Then we spent some time talking, some time going blank, and most of the time taking silly photos because Clounie brought her camera along that day which has wifi-remote control.

Trying to take "act natural but good looking" photos and.... we failed lol

Overall, The Parque Cafe is a special place to hang out due to its secured, relaxing environment. If you're bored after sitting in the cafe for quite some time, you can always go over to the show houses and visit and I tell you, it was so much fun visiting those show houses as you may be dreaming of how you gonna decorate those rooms and who knows maybe there'll be your dream come true.

I wonder how The Parque Cafe looks like at night

Fun outing with them, lotsa silly conversations

I am super curious about the other glass house cafe located at Kepong now as I wanted to see how it will look like during night time. Probably my plan for another long weekend that's coming on the beginning of October lol.

Product Review: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead 3 Steps Program

After using Estée Lauder's night ritual, I can felt my skin has transformed to a better condition but due to hectic schedule and staying up late (I mean really, really late, or should I say morning) my skin condition got worst, especially pimples and blackheads. I have no time to go for facial as well, hence I did this Blackhead 3 Steps Program by Innisfree at home.

Step 1 to 3, easy peasy!

I've used Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask before and I like everything about that mask, hence give this 3 steps program a try. I've tried Biore's before and sorry that doesn't work on me so I'm being a bit skeptical towards these blackheads strip regime. Let's see how's this Jeju Volcanic Blackhead 3 Steps Program works for me.

Step 1 - Pore Opening

Look at all the sebum and dirt on the strips

Place the Step 1 strip on nose for 15-20 mins and it keeps slipping off. I can't really do much but only can lie down and scroll my phone during that time period. After 20 minutes, I peel it off and wipe off the sebum, saw the dirts on the cotton and got shocked at how dirty my nose were!

Then comes the Step 2:

The Step 2 blackhead strip does smell organic as it is the mixture smell of volcanic elements and herbs. It is a bit tricky to apply the Step 2 nose strip as you can't over-wet your nose else the strip is gonna slip, and peeling it off after it dries is another tricky part as becomes hard and flaky, easily torn apart.

But a tad bit disappointed is that I don't see blackheads being pull off and seems like nothing stuck on the strip. Was it because that my nose is full of whiteheads instead? Lol. I have no idea but the Step 2 seems a bit pointless in my case.

Then I got a bit tired to take photo of Step 3 which is applying another layer of nose mask (lololol) which the photo will look the same as Step 1 so here's the end result after I've completed the 3 Steps Program of Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead.

Shiny, well groom nose lol

Well, aside from not seeing those pulled out blackheads, I do feel that my nose has become shinier and cleaner (must be the sebum clearing on Step 1 and nose mask on Step 3!) It is not very effective on clearing those stubborn blackheads on my nose as I still can see them stuck in my pores but it does look cleaner tho.

Convenient blackhead removing regime if you were to travel or doesn't have much time to do some cleaning of your nose area, but not so great in clearing those stubborn blackheads that will still stuck inside my pores and annoyed the hell out of me lol.
