Product Review: I'm Meme Concealer

I'm a concealer person, due to my acne scars (occasionally pimples), concealer is one of the staple beauty item that I gotta have no matter where I go. As you guys know, good concealer is hard to find I've been through brands searching for the right one for me but either they are too heavy and cakey, or too sheer and unable to cover up my skin's flaws.

During my trip to K-Beauty heaven last November, I decided to grab this concealer from the shop without any knowledge about the brand. It turns out when you're feeling adventurous, you might just found the perfect cosmetics and I'm talking about this:

I'm Meme Concealer in 01 Vanilla
Can't remember the price of this tho

Tube size, sturdy cap, doesn't leak

Precuse squeezing of amount

 creamy concealer

I'm Meme Concealer is creamy and yet lightweighted, provides good coverage of my dark circles and instantly brighten up my complexions too. Its natural finish gives a moisturized look that matches with my skin condition. I only used a small amount (probably like the size of a bead) for my face, and it is possible to do layering for full coverage look.

I used it for my lips as well too to give a neutral lip colour for my lipstick shade to show.

a close-up look of my skin condition after concealer applied

And I made my VERY FIRST beauty makeup video! It was so difficult editing beauty video, so much different than those travel/event videos I've done before. Although I've been following famous beauty instagrammers and view their videos now and then on instagram, but creating one myself is another world kinda issue. They look effortlessly pretty in all their vids and I just can't help feeling/looking weird and I can't made up my mind to smile or not. lol.

Nonetheless, please enjoy viewing my short video and do give me some feedback! (It's rather short tho)

Cafés Richard, SkyAvenue Genting Highlands

French dining experience made better when you're 5710metres from ground level, and what's best? It's hundred year old name restaurant from France. Started from 1892, this no.1 coffee roaster from France has opened its first branch outside of the country after remaining at its homeland for 125 years, and I'm very glad that my first french dining experience done right.

Flower petal seats design from above

These came out just like scene from French movies

Aren't they pretty!

Aesthetic satisfaction

It was actually my first visit to SkyAvenue Mall, the latest addition of attraction to Genting Highlands' entertainment outlets. I'm so in love with the mall, there are so many instagrammable interior design just somewhere around the corner, and Cafes Richard is definitely one of them. Since it's already evening, hence we get to taste Cafes Richard's Menu Du Soir (menu of the night/ dinner menu).

My choice of dinner:
escargots - roast duck - crepe

Since Cafes Richard is a famous french coffee roaster, their famous slow coffee method is definitely one of our choice. We ordered Sumatran Orang Utan Coffee (which part of the proceeds goes to endangered orang utans in Indonesia) and Ethiopian Moka Yirgacheffe both using the syphon method.

Although they are famous for coffee, but I heard there's something for the non-caffeine lovers, which is also my favourite - Ice Chocolate! This cuppa taste smooth and aromatic at the same time, with fresh cream on top, I can have two glass in one go!

Ice Chocolate - RM19

Jean is feeling adventurous that day, she ordered the prettiest looking cafe on the menu - Latte Jardin Fleur (literally means Flower Garden Latte). The combination of hibiscus, rose and elderflower in this cup of latter might taste a bit weird at first, but slowly as the caffeine sets in, it is actually like the name - A garden of flowers on your tongue tip!

Latte Jardin Fleur - RM20

and here comes my meal of the night:

Escargots
Not really fresh (I presume is the location?), taste a bit bland

French Onion Soup
This isn't in the dinner set menu but we extra order this just because.
Tasted a bit weird at first (because we're not French I guess?) then it's alright.
Wowed by the soup bowl tho. lol.

Magret de Canard Á L'Orange
Honestly, I can't really find any good description about this dish probably except for the potatoes gratin.
Duck is dry, sauce taste weird, bitter brussels sprout. I kinda regret I chose this dish.

Aumônière
Caramelised pear and orange crepe with chocolate sauce. Another big no no from me.
Everything is too sweet.

Crème Brûlée
This is good! Super crisp hard caramel and smooth cream.
When it comes to french dessert, it just have to be crème brûlée.

After dined at Cafes Richard, it turns out what they say about french dining duration is true. We spent 3 hours at this place and missed out the opportunity to walk around SkyAvenue Mall lol. But nonetheless it's a great experience and happy dining session with my beloved friends.

Thanks guys for the company.
(And yea, this visit was in April, hence my blonde hair lololol)

Product Review: Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Cobalt Blue

I'm weird and eccentric in some sense. I knew it since I was little, I'm quite different from the others. The experience I'm searching for in life varies from my siblings and relatives' kids and I don't know why. But I'm glad I turn up alright, and proud to say I'm bold to accept things that are more challenging when it comes to all aspect of life.

Same goes to my choice of eyeliners. I have no idea why we have to stick to boring black eyeliners everyday when there are so many colours available as choice! There are only handful of challenging souls in Malaysia when it comes to beauty/makeup/fashion choices I think. So, I decided to spice things up a bit last week and try out Estée Lauder's Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Cobalt Blue!

Blue is the warmest colour ain't it?

What I like about Estée Lauder's Double Wear Eye Pencil is that it is so smooth to draw on, hence you can lined your eyes smoothly without having to worry about crooked lines and uneven colours. Very, very long lasting and water resistant, despite I'm always have trouble with my oily eyelids, this eye pencil colour managed to stay on for long hours without glide off.

Smooth drawing, easy glide on, contrast colour
create any type of lines in just one stroke

Smudger on the other end for blending

Blue eyeliners surely brings out one's personality and enhanced sense of fashion when it comes to an overall look. This cobalt blue eye pencil beautify my eyes in just few strokes and bring up my moon in an instant. I'm gonna try blending of more colours using this cobalt blue eyeliner soon so stay tuned to more of my makeup style both in this blog and instagram!

Product Review: Argan Glow Hair Oil by CFC Lab

I can never tell you how much hardships my hair had been throughout the journey of being a model, especially one that is active for hairshows and such, my hair is under constant bleaching, chemical product processes that there's once my hair went "jelly fish" on me! The texture of my hair became "spongy and soft", one pull of my hair can stretch to 3 times its length. It was my worst nightmare I wouldn't wanna see that happen to my hair again.

Ever since then, I am quite particular in choosing organizers of hair show, as well as hair products I'm using. I've tried tons of hair products and there are some not even worth a mention, but not for this:

Argan Glow Hair Oil by CFC Lab
in Grapefruit Scent

CFC Lab or as known as Iljin Cosmetics is an unknown name to me, but not to fellow Korean beauty lovers because it is a 50 years history company and they've used one year to dedicate their effort in making this Argan Glow Hair Oil in order to suit the needs of user. They did product plans as long as 6 months to cover 40 different units of hair oil available in the market just to understand customer's needs and behaviours, a 4 months of production samples involving production of 30 different type of scents and 2 months of product design and image in order to deliver the perfect hair oil to the market.

When I first receive the bottle of hair oil I was like: Wow! The packaging and bottle design looks vintage, and comes with different type of cape (screw cap and pump) so you can either pour the hair oil directly or use the pump the amount of hair oil that you desire. I was impressed by the quality of the bottle and pump cap as they constantly deliver smooth pumping to the amount of hair oil that I'm gonna use.

Argan Glow Hair Oil is golden tint in colour

Second thing I noticed upon using the hair oil is - The scent. Its grapefruit scent smells aromatic I could not tell you how much I'm loving it! It scents perks up my mood whenever I'm having some rough mood dealing with my damaged hair, and there's nothing that this bottle of grapefruit scented argan glow hair oil couldn't do.

9 types of healthy ingredients are used to maximise the effectiveness of this hair oil:
  • Argan Oil
  • Carrot Seed Oil
  • Sunflower Seed Oil
  • Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil
  • Avocado Oil
  • Vaccinium Myrtillus Oil
  • Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil
  • Safflower Oil
  • Macadamia Oil
These components has created a effective, Vitamin E, Carotinoid, Lecithin, Protein, Vitamin C, Oleic Acid loaded with a very lightweighted and non-sticky texture. I love how light the oil feels when I pump it into my hand, and my hair absorbs them in an instance without any greasiness left on my hand.

Hair coated with Argan Glow Hair Oil
It feels more healthy compared to before

I'm glad I found this hair oil and it has gave me such a good feeling towards my hair after applying. My hair becomes smooth, softer, moisturized and easily managed after application and it becomes healthier too day by day after some time. I think I just found the perfect hair oil for myself.

RM5.90 Stationeries

It got me thinking pretty hard what title should I give to this post. When it comes to spending style, I like to buy cheap and practical stuff or maybe when things are a bit too cute to resist, but nonetheless, price is the main factor of me actual buying something.

That's why I like places such as Daiso and Komonoya, at the price of RM5.90, I'm actually enjoying products that Japanese like to use/ practical stuff that you wouldn't find them else where. Each Daiso and Komonoya outlets carry different products, sometimes I feel like I'm a treasure hunter when I dive into the sea of Japanese products in these places, looking for things I want.

Guess what, I found these:
Cute and practical stationeries, at RM5.90 each!

I was excited when I found that Daiso actually carry fountain pen with blue ink cartridge. I told Fei I just have to buy it! The design looks pretty elegant too for a fountain pen at such price. The only problem is that I can't seem to find any refill cartridge selling separately at Daiso. lol.

Metal cap, barrel, feed and ink nib

Smooth writing

Back of the paper that was written with the fountain pen.
I'm using notebook from Muji.

It does made up as an aesthetic writing instrument of some sort.

One of my favourite purchase of all time - Sakura Page Marker

This paper marker reminds me of the popular Bande sakura washi tape that was sold out everywhere in Japan. Since I can't have the washi tape, this paper marker sorta comfort me in some way. It contains 160 sheets of petals, just peel off one by one and stick wherever you want.

Material: Vellum paper

It is made by quality vellum paper which is semi-transparent and yet not easily bend as normal paper. Each petals is quite thick and sturdy, and it instantly light up my notebook the moment I stick them on it.

Is okay that I don't get to watch sakura at Japan, I'll create my own sakura paradise inside my notebook.

Last but not least, an impulsive purchase because... RM5.90 can buy you a box of 20 colour pencils? You must be joking right Daiso?

I rarely use colour pencils as drawing medium because I like watercolour more, but this product is totally irresistible and I would like to do some mix medium if possible. Hence I made a colour chart for future reference.

20 colours, what say you?

In a black coated thin body, the colours are more subtle compare to other colour pencil brands that are available in the market. It has strong core compare to some as it doesn't break easily while I'm colouring which I really have to give credit too. God knows how much I hate when colour pencil break on me while I'm colouring! Fancy colour available, I guess it pretty much worth every cent spent on this box.

Sometimes we don't need to splurge on fancy, expensive, hipster branded stationeries just trying to look good (or instagrammable) because when it comes to writing/drawing, it is what from within that counts. Ideas, inspiration, creativity, method of execution, and perseverance, these are essential elements that made our works a true masterpiece instead of our writing/drawing instruments.

So don't look down on yourself if you're using a RM1 ballpoint pen or in this case, a RM5.90 fountain pen just because you're currently unable to afford a LAMY fountain pen, it is what you're doing with the RM5.90 fountain pen that counts. So draw/write on, let your creativity flows and one day it will take you to the place that is worthy of your effort for not giving up.
