Secret Garden

This is not a blogpost about the Korean movie that's a big hit 2 years back, but a restaurant that its concept is living, wine and dine. Located inside a small lane in Ipoh (Lorong Cheang Cheah Lim), there's these charming bungalows that's been modified into business use - boutique hotels and restaurant. I was told this is one of the latest trend in Ipoh.

Welcome to Secret Garden

This is my first time dine inside a bungalow (if I'm not mistaken, I have lousy memories) and upon reaching its compound, I was amazed by it. KL also have something like this like Ciao or some fine dining restaurants but not to mention the price of their meals are super duper expensive!!! A huge compound like this with plenty or greenery and space is one place that hardly can be found in KL.

England-style telephone booth and postbox.

Al fresco. Imagine the relaxing feel sipping wine or drinking beer and chit chat with friends here. Bliss!

You can either choose to dine at the al fresco area, or inside the restaurant with aircond, soothing lighting and even projectors for you to view soccer match at the England/soccer area.

Well decorated.

Soccer showing and Beatles, so England.

He just woke up from his late evening nap, tad bit grumpy lolololol.

Their dishes are kinda German-ish, quite confused actually as most of the decorations are quite England-ish but lotsa sausage dishes in their menu, and some are quite fusion too. I don't care I just wanna eat steak and Xuan also don't care he wanna eat sausages. lol.

Their menu price are slightly cheaper than some of the restaurants of KL but definitely on par with German restaurant like Weissbräu. Expensive imo. I hope their food better be good then.

So call Fresh Orange Juice.

First disappointment of the meal: their juice. It's suppose to be a 100% orange juice right? It's more like 50% of orange juice + 45% of water + 5% sugar syrup. Taste kinda bland. Urgh.

He wanted orange juice, not me.
But I'm the one to finish it up. -_-

Kids Menu - Sausages

Seriously, when I saw this, I am so disappointed that these are the sausages they serve, like from Ayamas or something that sells 8 or 10 sticks for RM4. Just few sticks of sausages and potato wedges, RM17.90++. Some more there are burnt parts at some sausages. Oh my, where's the standard!

Lamb shanks.

Boohoo... Deceived by the photo inside the menu. These lamb shanks looked so small, like from a small lamb or something. Very small portion. I had just a bite of the mutton, can't say much bout it but I really like the side dish - small potato chunks and mushroom in buttermayo(?unsure) sauce. Super nice can! But just a few spoons then finished. Yikes.

Char Grilled Sirloin Steak

It's rather a small piece of steak compared to all those I had before. Side dishes are one piece of sausage, two pieces of fish keropok(crackers) and sautéed veges in chili bits and cream. Very fusion. Their medium-well cook sirloin steak are tad bit hard for me. Chewed until my jaws tired. Order medium ones if you like your meat soft.

Xuan super loves my dish's black pepper sauce, and I love it as much he did. Rich, creamy in the aroma of black pepper. I have to ask for another serving of black pepper sauce because Xuan keep on dip his sausages and wedges and finishes my sauce. lol.

Overall it was quite a decent place if you're not a person who has high expectation in food but just wanna find a place to chill and dine in comfort around Ipoh.

"Wuah! Police cone oh!"
Hahahaha traffic cones all belongs to police according to him. lol.

French Manicure for Trembling Hands

I got this pair of hands and distorted brain that sometimes I can't even draw one single, straight line using a ruler and I don't know why. Who else have the same problem like me? Is like the ruler is there, I will draw a line, then the pen/pencil I'm holding somehow got distracted and the line isn't straight. I'm graphic design student, seriously FML.

Anyway, how does a person like me can have a diy french manicure then? The design that requires straight line on the tip of each nails. Fret not, there's this tool that can help and I'll show you how!

Base colour - DONE.

And this is is - reinforcement ring stickers that you use to stick at paper that you just punched holes at so it won't easily teared off. RM2.50 for 500pcs, imagine how many design of french manicure you can do with it, super cheap!

Stick'em right at the middle of your nails.

Tip: 1. Never ever stick those ring stickers when your base colour nail polish is not yet FULLY dry! It will come off with the stickers and you will wanna stab yourself for it. Paint your base colour, let it dry totally, you can do something else while waiting for it.

       2. Try to stick'em on your skin or elsewhere twice or more. If the stickers are too sticky, its adhesives will stick and stay on your top of your newly coloured nails and looks so horrible. The only way to cover this is to apply a top coat.

Apply the 2nd colour evenly of your choice for at the tip of your nails.

Voila! My black x red french manicure!

There's so many designs you can play with using the curve of the stickers!! Have fun playing with them!!

Some Vintage Business

Didn't know what to wear how to wear how to make-up until the last minute I have to force myself. Then slowly things starting to pop up one by one on my mind...

White jacket, then mix with? Hmm... jumpsuits? Maybe. *look at watch, 5:45p.m.!* Gotta do make-up now. Wanna try the white eyeshadow that brings clean feel on eyes. But add a bit here and there, it became something different.

White eyeshadow overall the eyelids and brown eyeshadow at the end of the eye and crease. Super dramatic eyeliner and false lashes. 1/3 lower eyeline but no mascara for lower eyelashes tho. Tangy colour blusher and nude beige lip colour. Then I hand itchy added eyeliner on my pimples that's at my upper left mouth area and fake it as mole. lololol.

Yeah, a lil bump on my hair. Try to style a beehive hairstyle but failed. Hahahaha. No time to look for diy method online, guess it'll do. Simply pin and try to make it stay at the position lololol.

A coloured version. lol.

Instead of jumpsuits that brings a bit 'resort relaxing' feel, my choice is black dress. Totally looked like a business woman. YIKES!

Hahaha whatever. So mature looking that when I accidentally bumped into an old friend of mine, she told me I look so mature and she thought I'm a fashion designer(?what?) lol. Maybe I should study fashion design instead. haha.

September 22nd, it's lovely Hana-chan's birthday, it's also a super big day for fashionista in KL as it's the grand opening of H&M's very first outlet here at Lot10.

Sticker Freak

Those good ol' sticker collecting days are back to me!!! Bought a total 3 designs of stickers in these few days. Feels all lovely while looking at them stickers. (girls you know how I feel)

I have tons and tons of stickers at home, collecting dusts in a box but I keep buying more and more in the end, vicious cycle. Last time used to order stickers and sticker packs through SilverHo! Anyone of you remember this? You wait for your turn in class to browse through catalogues and write down the code number and post it along with wang pos ( postal order) and they'll send you the parcel. There's new stuff and new catalogue each month!

I'm not the one who did the ordering, but the one who joined in and spend money on stickers and letters pack and sometime idol merchandises lololol. Those good ol' memories.

Rilakkuma, Choo Choo Sticker Pack and Alpaca &  Sheep.

I've been thinking where to use these stickers but no, not a place I can think of! LOL. I wanted to stick some to my phone but don't know where will be suitable. I need some cheap and plain looking case to revamp it with these stickers.

These will be collecting dusts again for some time perhaps. lololol.

So Casual

Guess these photos pretty much sums up how I wear these few days at Ipoh.

The hot weather and no place to go kinda made people lazy to dress up and make up. Lol. It's true that there's no ugly woman but lazy woman. Fits me perfectly. Haha. Some more there's one big zit at the upper corner of my lips. Boohoo.

Super love the flip flops bought at Taman Connaught's night market. Black flowers and a Lil bit of height underneath my feet. Nothing beats walking tall. Haha.
