Jean

Went to a 2 days 1 night Staycation trip with my girl Jean over the weekend. It was a relaxed and fun-filled mini getaway. Our schedule consist of eat-checkin-massage-eat-sightseeing-eat-sightseeing-sleep-eat-eat-checkout! LOL! Look at how many times we've ate in less than 24 hours. Crazy girls.

Well anyway while I was waiting for this girl to do her makeup early in the morning, the sunlight that came in from the windows, the white bedsheets and pillows, her good-looking face, literally everything in that fresh crisp morning creates a picture-perfect view and I was like "why not snap some of her photos while she's doing her makeup, it could be fun" and voilà, I snapped these. Probably the only thing missing in these photos is that I wish I could have a better camera on hand that moment.

Captured by iPhone5S with VSCO post editing, mainly using F2 filters with slight exposure/contrast adjustment.

I used to ask Peiyue to be my model, do her makeup by myself and take tons of photos of her! We would laugh at the photos but it was fun. I guess one of my hidden hobby is taking photos of my pretty friends. This sounded less weird in my head. lol.

Tokyo Kitchen, Berjaya Times Square, KL

"Your startup disk is almost full." Received this notification on my MacBook Pro so I decided to force myself look into my iPhoto and delete those unwanted shots/ multiple shots/ selfies to clear up some space for my laptop, and then I discovered these photos which marks me and Peiyue's visit to Tokyo Kitchen located inside Berjaya Times Square.

Although I'm not even sure whether the restaurant still exist today because I haven't been to Times Square for quite some time, but these photos are the remnants of fun loving memories and I think of sharing my happiness on my blog. All happening on one lovely day in November, 2013.

I remembered by then Tokyo Kitchen just opened at Berjaya Times Square, hence we decided to pay a visit before our shopping spree. lol.

Pretty missy

The cool corner of Tokyo Kitchen - Ema (Wooden wishing plaques) that you normally seen inside the shrines of Japan.

These are the food that we had that day, which I have no memory of how they taste like. Most probably average taste because if they were tasty, I could've remember, right? lol.

Chuka Kurage, one my favourite Japanese appetiser.

garlic fried rice

Ala Carte Sushis

Then I eyed at this super long sashimi dish and thought it would be fun to take photo with! Although my parents always advice "Don't play with your food" since young but no harm do it once in awhile right? Hahaha.

Super long can!

And then I became the legendary long tongue woman!
And yes, I still had long hair back then!
Hahahahaha

Matcha ice cream and brownies for dessert

OOTD shots, 3 years back!

Since there's this Ema wall corner inside the restaurant, I guess no harm writing my wishes on it. Although my wish didn't came true. lol.

It is always fun trying out new places with my girls and I'm glad that we're still who we were back then today! You don't need a big bunch of friends in life, all you need is just a few that wouldn't turn their back on you, and I'm glad I found them in my life.

*No information of the restaurants avaialable due to the uncertain availability of restaurant.

From Blueberry to Strawberry

Literally from blue hair to pink hair. Thank you Jolleen and the help of SC I managed to have this dreamy colour of pink for Chinese New Year! To be honest I always think pink colour is too sweet for me I can't imagine myself in pink apparels at all it is just too sweet and not me. Ewww! lol.

Then here I am, roaming around the streets of KL and events with pink hair. lol. Life's unpredictable eh. Wanna try more colours before I go back to the norm.

As usual, bleach is such a bitch.

It has been months since I last touch up my hair roots so it required bleaching to get an even colour of pink. As time goes by my scalp was weaken by the bleaching process, hence it is harder to let the bleach stay on my hair for a longer period... Hence the slightly uneven hint of orange of the end result this round.

Using EVO's Fabuloso Pro for this round too!
I find that these two colour combination nice too? Next colour perhaps?

Fall in love with the colour immediately!

Life-size anime character lololol. Thank you so much for my hair colour! Now my life is complete hahahaha. Well I guess this will be the last few drastic colours on my hair since I'm planning of growing my hair and bleaching isn't helping at all. lol. Many of my friends look down on me when I tell them I'm planning of growing my hair so I have to prove them wrong lolololol.

Here's a vid of the hair changing process:

I'm a fucking unicorn babeh! lol.

I'm patiently waiting the right time for my next hair colour change! What colour shall it be?

Mak's Chee Authentic Wonton, 1 Utama Shopping Centre

Selections of eateries in malls can be quite dull, especially when you had too much it you just don't feel like eating at any food outlets at all, not even waffles and desserts can make you craving for them anymore. That's how I felt lately. So we decided to gave Mak's Chee Authentic Wonton a try.

Dinner time queue

This guy in the queue macam familiar lololol

Mak's Chee Authentic Wonton's origin from Hong Kong, finally opened their branch at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. I've heard some of my friend purposely went and queue for their wonton noodles and give positive comment about it. Line of queue is still long during peak hours meal time, and we queued for 10-15mins for our dinner. You can place order too while queuing to speed up the preparation time.

I never been to Hong Kong hence I have yet tried the real authentic Hong Kong wonton noodles, I can't really compare the flavour between both but I like the noodles' springy texture as it is made of high quality flour and duck eggs. Mak's Chee technique of making noodles is to pressurized the dough until it is compact and firm, without any air bubbles hence the chewy and springy texture of noodles can be made. Only small dough at a time to maintain the consistency of noodles texture, hence Mak's Chee sells only "Sai Yong" (literally means small morsels).

Sai Yong - RM12.90

Noodles in Sauce with Sea Prawn Wonton - RM14.90

Mak's Chee signature wonton in goldfish shape

Noodle with Dried Prawn Roe Sprinkle - RM14.90

Seasoned Vegetables - RM10.90

To be honest, it is a disappointing meal when a plate of noodles at Mak's Chee is twice the price of what we can get at kopitiam outside, but taste is not on par with the hawker stalls at all. Noodles is springy and in firm chewy texture (yes I have to give credit to this that they have good noodles) but a plate of wonton noodles isn't just about the noodles, it comes in as whole. Good noodles but bland sauce, dried flounder based soup taste watered down and the noodles with dried prawn roe sprinkle taste just meh.

It makes me wondered if we had chosen the right place to have our dinner, but well I guess never try never know and most probably Mak's Chee will be a one-time-only visit (unless they've improved their recipe or something).
