Miss Ellie Tea House, Taman Melawati

Being a Setapakian for more than a decade, I couldn't believe that I've never heard of Miss Ellie Tea House which has been open for business for more than two years. Until recently Freda suggest that we go to this tea house for lunch, only I realised there's this hidden gem hiding in our Setapak area.

All the way straight from KTAR, after you passed by MRR2 highway, terrace houses and a roundabout, turn left at the first junction where Miss Ellie Tea House is located right at the centre of that row of shop lot you see. If you're a big fan of English style tea house for your lunch and tea, this is a perfect place that satisfy your visual needs. I always tell my friends that this place is the wonderland to Alice.

If you visit Miss Ellie Tea House during peak hours such as lunch time, you're probably gonna end up waiting for seats as their seats are limited. So be sure toile reservations before you go if you plan to have your lunch there.

Homemade Lemonade

Daily special - dragonfruit juice

Hot coffee RM7.50

Prettied 'ot Chock'lit

This pretty little cup of hot chocolate gave me a shock as I ordered it in the "prettied" version so there's nutmeg powder and cream in it. Probably not for those who dislike strong taste in their cup of hot chocolate tho.

Mushroom soup, creamy and loads of mushroom chunks in it! Added king oyster in it, so finished it while it's hot.

Tea Pot Smoked Salmon Salad (RM15-ish)

Sorry that I didn't label the price in this post because I couldn't remember the price and I don't have the receipt with me, but the price range of Miss Ellie Tea House are around RM7.90 - RM30 depends on what you order.

Spaghetti Bolognese

Miss Ellie Tea House serve home cooked meals to their customers. The very welcoming and warm feeling you'll get whenever you're there eating their food. Not to mention their food are quite healthy too as they're made upon order and there's a lot of greens, perfect nutrition-balanced meal.

Australian beef casserole

Bangers & Mash RM16.90

My personal favourite will be their Te Pot Smoked Salmon salad and mashed potato. The greens and smoked salmons in the salad are fresh and oh the soft and creamy mashed potato, makes me craving for more! Don't forget to order it as sides if you're a big fan of potato dishes like me.

Scones

Crème Brûlée

Last but not least, I really have to talk to you about Crème Brûlée which was made using recipe the chef create himself. It is the softest, smoothest, creamiest Crème Brûlée I've ever had in my life! It is to die for! I couldn't tell you how excited I was when I taste the first scoop of it my eyes was literally full of tears of happiness. My friend Elaine saw me and she laughed me about it lol. But seriously if you can only have one Crème Brûlée in your life, it's gotta be Miss Ellie Tea House's crème brûlée!

English tea house atmosphere, warm and cozy, kind staff who does small chats with customers, good food, I do hope that they'll be able open up their second branch soon! Be sure to pay a visit to Miss Ellie Tea House if you happen to be at Setapak area.
