NATURAL BUBBLE MILK TEA FROM I’MILKY 沐白小農沐場, KOTA LAKSAMANA, MALACCA

Hola from the historical state of Malaysia - Malacca! It's been a year since I last visited this beautiful city and honestly, I really love city by the sea because it gives a total different vibe than Kuala Lumpur and one of my wish is that I can move to cities like Malacca or Penang. Isn't it cool that beaches are just 30 minutes drive away?

Me, Cinda and Ivy planned an impromptu one day trip to Malacca because we never traveled together before I think it's best if we start with a day trip and the trip gets more fun when you travel with funny people that you love to hang out with! We stopped by so many stalls and restaurants selling different food on that day that I lost count what we've eaten! Malacca is really a nightmare if you're trying to diet but no, diet ain't one of my life goal!

Although I'm not a big fan of diet, but I do look into what I eat or drink. I try to cut down on processed food and aim for natural ingredients as much as possible. Hence our local "tour guide" Cinda (she's originally from Malacca) brought us to Kota Laksamana when she ask us: do you girls wanna get some bubble milk tea? Malacca recently has this instagrammable place and there's newly opened I'Milky! 

If you don't ask, the answer is always gonna be yes.

And I was like: "I'Milky? Isn't that the famous Taiwanese bubble milk tea brand?"

And hereby I conclude:

we really are lolololol.

And seriously, Kota Laksamana area is such an instagrammable place! Imagine you get to pose with your beloved bubble milk tea and show it off to your friends and family! Hahahahaha. That's what we're doing that afternoon - sipping bubble milk tea from I'Milky, took tons of photos and enjoying our sweet lil happiness together!

Did I tell you that I find that calcium in my body seems increased after I got my weekly brown sugar bubble milk fix? It's true! My nails used to be very fragile and easily break even though I had gel manicures on. It's been bothering me since I'm young that I have fragile nails because I can never keep beautiful, long nails. But it seems this issue has solved since I started drinking brown sugar bubble milk! Maybe this is one of the benefit I get from binge drinking bubble milk tea hahahaha.

So, of all the bubble milk tea chain stores, why I'Milky? I asked Cinda. Being one of the country that produce high quality teas ourselves has very well indicate our love for tea. Although not as crazy as the British, but we do drink a lot of tea on daily basis. The aromatic Taiwanese tea as equally as famous and you will get to try original tea from Taiwan at I'Milky too if you were to order their tea series. A good choice during sunny afternoon or after a heavy milk to quench your thirst for a not-so-heavy version of bubble milk!

On the other side, the Matcha Milk which made from premium-grade Matcha Powder from Shizuoka are definitely for Matcha lovers! The balanced taste between this fine matcha and milk, the bittersweet in life are well expressed in this cuppa!

Serve only icy cold, this Strawberry milk is one of my favourite drink during sunny afternoon! It's my antidote for hot summer days and as you know, Malaysia is famous for it's scorching hot weather. While the milk has become the base for this drink , each and every sip from it got me tasting the sweet, sweet Taiwan strawberry! Did you know Taiwan produces a lot of fruits as well? Neither do I! But this icy cold summer beverage got me anticipating in eating real Taiwan produced fruits!

How is it I haven't taste you in my life?

Taro, which is the Japanese pronunciation for yam, has got me cravings for all its products in recent years. From Chinese food to ice creams, whenever there's yam flavoured, I want it. 

This cup of Taro Milk had three of us fighting for it (as we only ordered 1 flavour each), and we all agreed that this drink taste so good with all the freshly mashed yam! When mixed well, each and every sip from this cup of Taro Milk sends those fresh Taro granules right into your mouth then filled your tummy with its yummy taste! Gosh I want another cup of this right now!!!!

What's better than sharing the flavour of happiness with people you cherish?

Aside from their freshly handcrafted beverages, I enjoyed hanging out around I'Milky's shop as they have bright and spacious interior which is perfect for taking any instagrammable/memorable photos with people you visit I'Milky with!

Such minimalist feel! No wonder Cinda would recommend I'Milky to us because she knows I'm a huge fan of minimalist interior design as well!

This Malacca day trip thingy is such an amazing experience to me because aside from eating our heart outs, we get to take tons of memorable photos, create memories together as well as knowing what's best for our bubble milk tea taste buds! Leftovers of Malacca Trip

The 2nd day, which was also the last day of me and my friends Malacca trip back in April. Wrote the first day blog post back then but the second day four months later wtf!!! Hahaha. Hopefully I can still recall the stuff we did back then.

It was still a big hit back then! Jason's phone ringtone was that song which made Kevin damn pissed off, especially when they share room and Jason's phone keep ringing. Hahahaha.

LOLS.

The reason why I didn't blog about the 2nd day of the trip straightaway is because aside from the photos I took with my phone, there are tons of photos in both Elise's and Jason's DSLR, so have to wait them to upload the photos so I can grab and share in the blog post. Didn't realized that procrastinate till 4 months later, lol. Hence you can see the difference in terms of photo quality.

The first thing we do when we reach Jonker Street - Eat.
Chicken Rice Ball is yum!

Tried a few restaurants for Malacca's signature dish - Chicken rice balls and in my opinion, the best will still have to be Restaurant Chung Wah, the very first restaurant where the origin of chicken rice balls come from. Although I'm not a big fan of steamed chicken, but somehow I like their steamed chicken, and the rice balls are tasteful too. That's why you never see the restaurant empty, and always long queue outside of it. 

It's located at the small roundabout at the entrance of Jonker street. Not a fancy restaurant but they got the taste where you will go back again and again!

Stuff 2 heavy meals in just few hours time is really something difficult, and we decided to go for dessert, which is the coconut shake everyone been talking about. Tried to visit the place once but too bad it was closed for Friday prayer so this time, I did my research and decided to visit the shop again during its opening hours.

Klebang coconut shake located at Kampung Klebang, a seaside village. It's kinda hard to find the junction to turn into the shop if you're first time there, but just keep an eye on the roadside you will find there's a stall at roadside selling coconut shake so turning into the small road beside the stall and you will reach the shop. The business is running by Malay family so they won't be open during Friday morning till noon and business hours start from 2pm on Friday.

It's kinda far from Jonker street and the main city areas of Malacca, so you will have to possess own transportation to Kampung Klebang. Walking from Malacca town area to the place will be impossible so don't even try.

After food and desserts, it's time to explore some of Malacca's historical places. Too bad it was going to rain that day and we don't really have enough time to visit St. Paul's Church up on the hill. Just roughly visited A Famosa below, took tons of silly photos again. lol.

And continue walking, we reached Dataran Pahlawan and its huge field. We spent about half an hour there just because we can't get a satisfying jumping shot of four of us. So hard when using timer to take action shots. Maybe we're just too noob, lol.

It's been 4 months already and the photos of our jumping shots are still not yet being upload by Jason!!! Now only I remember that most of the shots were taken using his DSLR but I've forgotten that he's more procrastinate than I do. Hahaha~ So no shots of jumping photos at the field of Dataran Pahlawan. I doubt that I'll be uploading them in the future too. =/






Then, I remembered it rained that afternoon and we went to Mahkota Parade's branch of Nadeje and chill. I have no idea what's the hype is about for the mille crepes but we still ordered one piece each for ourselves that day. It's not that special and "only-can-get-in-Melacca" anymore as there's a Nadeje branch opened at Jaya 33, PJ months ago.

We walked from Jonker Street to Dahtaran Pahlawan to Mahkota Parade and walk back to Jonker Street for its night market. It was kinda tiring but fun. What we did during that 2 days 1 night trip is just eat. Stop by here to eat, stop by there to eat, eat everything we find delicious. lol. So how can we miss what's selling at Jonker88, right?

Although you have to queue for quite some time, and hard to get empty tables and seats inside the restaurant, but the food is worth for your time and every cent you spent. Go earlier as some of the food will finish before evening, as this was my experience for going late to Jonker88 for my past 2 visits to Malacca, I only can eat their Asam Laksa but not their Baba Kahwin Nyonya Laksa! Sobs. I will go earlier for my next visit to have what I'm craving for!

Headed to Seremban for its famous Grilled Crab because none of us had that before and since it's on the way back to KL, so we search and asked some friends and got to this restaurant that served grilled crab. But compared to grilled crab, I'm more obsessed with this:

Fried wanton skin with the restaurant's signature chili sauce.
It is OH-EM-GEE delicious I don't know what they used to make the chili sauce so irresistable!!!
Wish I can buy a big jar back to KL with me.

This Malacca trip was the most intense one compared to all my previous trip as we were non-stop eating. In just 31 hours we've already ate 13 times regardless heavy meals or light snacks. LOL. How can not gain weight right? But yeah, overall it was a fun trip and I'm missing the laughter, the beautiful sceneries and the delicious food of Malacca again.





But guess what, I'm heading to Malacca again tomorrow! Wahahaha! Can't wait to stuff all the delicious food inside my tummy!!! YUMS!!!

Malacca Dangerous

Just to be clear, this post's title is an adaptation from the movie "Bangkok Dangerous". Just a personal thing, nothing to do with Malacca's current crime rate or environment, do take note. :)

It is quite hectic when we only have so less time to complete visit all the good food places at Malacca. The first night of our arrival, we decided to visit Portuguese Settlement and also night bar at Jonker Street, although it was a Thursday and we already aware that there are so few happening place available during night time around Malacca.

My first time to Portuguese Settlement and I love the place so much! Dining beside the sea with friendly restaurant owner, although the taste of the food may be a little bit too extreme to me. We decided to try Stall no.6 - Big Benz after read the tips in Foursquare, the food was good! We ordered Baked Fish and Fried Brinjal, the baked fish was tad bit spicy to me. It is so hilarious that they ordered Mango juice there but the taste is kinda funny and three of them can't finish a cup of juice. lol. Luckily I ordered a cup of Lime juice instead, but super sourish ones.

After dinner we decided to chill at the end of the bridge located just beside the restaurants, it was a starry night and the sea breeze is just way too comfortable! We stargazed and chatted, then there's this group of youngsters came over and next to our group. While we're busy chatting, suddenly there's an aunty started talking in a loud note to one of the youngster, then they started an argument in front us. We just stunned there not knowing what to do. We kept quiet while some of them walked away and some remain seated there.

Laogao accidentally looked at their direction and he got yelled at. That guy shouted: What the fuck are you looking? You got any problem? Laogao answered in a polite manner saying "nothing." Then the youngster and the rest of the gang just left the place. I was kinda scared that they will beat us up or something. Luckily no. Phew~! I think they are from the Portuguese village based on the English they communicate.

We decided to consume another round of food before we head back to hotel for a quick shower. Capitol Satay Celup is our choice when it comes to supper. You have no idea how much we ate despite we just had our dinner not long ago. Had a lot of seafood tofu and meatballs, Elise's choice of food and mine are so similar. lol.

After a quick shower back at hotel, we decided to hit Jonker Street for drinks. Laogao, who drives us around during the trip, wasn't realltly familiar with all the roads around, and I'm the GPS for this trip.

While we're finding parking around Jonker Street, we reached this cross junction. While Laogao's driving noticed there's a couple who walked so near to the right side of his car he had to watch out for not hitting them but he forgot that it was a cross junction and there were cars coming from the left.

I literally screaming "car! car! car!!!" and closed my eyes because I'm so afraid the car will hit us and the next thing Elise said was "Oh My God it's police car." We're doomed, or at least Laogao is. We're being stopped aside and Laogao have to go down and answer some questions, and of course summoned for driving recklessly. I guess this incident kinda defect our mood and throughout the drinking session we didn't have really much to talk about…

Until one of the bartender came over and chat with us and showed us some bartender tricks. We went to Eleven bistro introduced by my friend and it was really a good choice. The bartender called Gen (or you can call him Bangkali, as what he told us) is so funny and talkative that we had some really good time at the bar and literally forgot bout our nearly-car-crash-incident.

As you can see, our Malacca trip is kinda adventurous we got kinda worn out on that night. But little did I know, the scariest incident has yet to happen. Will write more bout this trip soon!
