Product Review: Wanderlust Things Unicorn Face Brush

Some of us do believe in fairies, mermaids and unicorns, even when we're adults. I do believe in magical fairytales and that got my friends dissing me for being childish and unrealistic. Life is tough for everybody and I guess each of us lost track of that magical feeling that we once own when we're a child. 

I don't wanna lose this magical feeling I have inside of me everytime I saw beautiful scenery of mother nature, interesting stuff and happenings, surrounded by amazing people, listen to music that gives me goosebumps etc... I wanna be someone who appreciate small little things in life with passion burning inside of me. 

And I'm thankful to have these magical unicorn face brushes to remind me everyday that how amazing I am and how beautiful I'm gonna be. I guess this is the magic of these unicorn brushes that make all the girls on internet goes crazy. This totally break the internet as I've seen many makeup artists and internet celebrities were sharing and asking this unicorn face brushes.

I got these brushes from Wanderlust Things at Butterfly Project's 4th Birthday Party, me and my friends go all "OH-EM-GEEEEE" when we saw this inside our birthday bag! This set of unicorn face brushes contains:

• Powder Brush
• Finishing Powder Brush
• Blush Brush
• Contour Brush
• Blending Brush

I've been applying my makeup with my fingers all along because I'm unable to find suitable brushes that I feel comfortable with and are soft that don't hurt my skin. Some synthetic bristles brushes are so harsh I can feel stinging feelings when I try them on that's why I don't really bother looking for a set. Then come this set of unicorn face brushes that totally change my perception on brushes, them bristles as soft as unicorn fur!!!

Trying them on, I've done my another makeup look using these brushes and I will call this look - Unicorn Makeup look!

Pink eyebrows, shiny eyelids, magical purple-ish highlight with these brushes!

I'm really loving this unicorn makeup look, it gives me a sweet and magical vibes with the pink eyebrows, shiny eyelids and almost holographic cheek highlight! It's not over the top kinda makeup, and suitable for everyday, casual look with white tee and jeans. Would you try this look?

How To Create Passport-Photo-Worthy Look

Sawadee Ka from Phuket! Feels great to have a short getaway in the midst of Chinese New Year with my secondary school friends who are also in the same club when we were back in high school! Some vacation that not to be missed! 

If you're one of my Facebook friend, you probably knew that I had my passport updated 2 days before departure date, it was quite a close call as I heard from friends that there are some cases where they can't even get queuing numbers for few days. I was quite stressed out when I found out that I have to send my brother to college before I can go to UTC Sentul, but turns out that it was quite empty at the immigration centre, probably because of weekdays.

Another stressful thing for girls who wanna renew their I.C or Passport is - how to look good in the identification document photo. These documents follow us for quite a long period, and we wanna look the very best of it, so I decided to make a post of how I do my "Passport-Photo-Worthy" makeup for my passport photo. 

Concealer

Concealer is a MUST! If you have pimples, acne scars, visible redness, spots, scars, use concealer to conceal it to look like you have flawless skin! Especially if you didn't had a good night sleep and dark eye circles are bad, you might wanna use more concealer around your eyes area to make yourself look wide awake. I slabbed tons of this on my face that day, terrible skin condition lately boohoo.

Don't forget your neck areas

I'm in love with Laneige BB Cushion lately as it is light but with good coverage and make my skin look dewy instead of oily! After you put on foundation on your face, don't forget to put some around your neck area for even skin tone and possibly covering up some ageing signs like lines around my neck lol.

Brow Bone Highlight

After drawing my brows, I use Benefit's High Brow to highlight my brow bones to make my brows look more define as well as making my feature pop-up more than usual. It's god-given to be flat-face Asian but with the power of makeup, at least there's some difference I can make. lol.

Two Tone Eyeshadow

Drew a two tone eyeshadow on that day by using NARS's Eye Paint "Porto Venere" and duo eyeshadow palette "St-Paul-De-Vence". Eye paint as base and I use a darker brown colour eyeshadow to create a "deep-eye-sockets" make. It is to create an illusion that you have bigger eyes with double eyelids. Makeup can be pretty deceiving ain't it? Hahahaha.

Shading

Another MUST do when it comes to photo taking as it will make your face feature pops! Shading technique has become a hype overseas as you can see there are so many makeup tutorials about shading your face area, creating a makeup look that can sometimes look nothing like your face. Too bad I haven't acquire that technique yet, so I'm doing subtle shading on both side of my cheeks and also side of my nose area.

Strobing

Use a non-shimmer highlight powder to highlight my nose bridge, upper lip and chin because as the flash fire off, highlight powder with shimmer might make your face look oily as you don't know how long you'll wait till your turn so might as well play safe and use non-shimmer highlight powder when it comes to strobing.

Conceal your lip line

Do you know dark lip lines make you look older than your age? This is why Koreans' gradient lip make is one of the trend when it comes to lip colour as it requires concealing your lip lines before applying lip colour to the center area of your lips. Apply a brighter-than-your-lips lip colour to make yourself look fresh and ready to go out and take the world!

Voila! My passport photo makeup!

With the right amount of contouring, strobing, good eyebrows day, eyeshadow technique, lip colour, you'll never afraid to take photo at immigration office for your identification documents again! I might wanna lose some weight before I change my I.C photo because no amount of makeup could hide my chubby cheeks lol.

NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection

This mark my first purchase of NARS cosmetics too hooray! Ever since NARS opened their first store in Pavilion, me and my friends dropped by to visit their store quite often to check out their cosmetics and latest collection. Most of my friends have been buying their lipsticks, blushers and all but for me, I'm quite dilemma of what to buy and finally, NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection had my eyes on them!

Okay the nail lacquer isn't from the Fall 2015 Color Collection but I find it makes perfect fall winter colour and I'm loving the colour to bits! Was having some hard time deciding what colour to buy as I want something darker shade but not too feminine, more on the cool chic side, and this colour catches my eyes!

This nail polish from NARS had my heart since I first try it on in the store, as it is formulated with quick dry technique and also the colour, oh I just love the colour so much! Instantly made my hand look fairer and the colour just pop out so much. 

Usually I paint my nails 2 layers and it tends to be a bit hard to dry and sometimes with my restless behaviour of wanting to do things before my nail colour even dry completely, my nails will look horrendous with all those scratched nail colour. With NARS, one layer of painting is all I need to get my perfect nail colour and it dries out so fast! I'm amazed! 

Thinking of buying another nail polish from them again soon... Thinking of what colour~ Probably something more Spring Summer-ish? 

Next, from NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection which I think matches with my nail colours perfectly: Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow - Pasiphae

Pasiphae, in Greek mythology is the daughter of Helios, The Sun and she is the Queen of the city Atlantis who possessed the power of witchcraft. I guess this pretty sums up my feeling towards this colour - dark and mysterious and yet charming. This shinning peacock burgundy colored eyeshadow changes colour from different perspective and under different lighting, its sophisticated colour really bring life to my eyes.

The dual-intensity eyeshadow can be apply in two method - both dry and wet. You can do a dry application for daily look to achieve a soft and sensual eyeshadow colour and to intensified your eye game, apply the eyeshadow using the wet application for mind-blowing impact and high shine finishes.


I really love how the eyeshadow changes it colours on my eyelids from different angle and it makes me feel like I've everchanging, like a chameleon! Definitely something that suits my style and personality, forever changing to one style and another and never settle down. I guess from looking at my cosmetic purchase you'll roughly get the idea what type of personality I am lololol.

NARS Mid Valley Megamall Celebration Party

NARS has opened their 2nd boutique in the heart of Klang Valley - MidValley! Congratulations to NARS and the Malaysia team for bringing NARS nearer to people who live around PJ area, I'm sure they will be thankful that they don't have to travel all the way to Pavilion KL to get their favourite makeup and beauty needs from NARS. 

There was a celebration party held at the centre court of Mid Valley Megamall few days ago and the event was filled with glitter and glamorous names of Malaysia celebrities. Not to mention also top makeup artists around Malaysia are gathered here too to witness another great start of journey by NARS Malaysia. 

There are models around, showcasing NARS latest makeup trends which you can get all the products used by makeup artists on these models at the nearest NARS store near to your place.

Sultry smokey eyes

The event was hosted by the handsome and charming emcee: Henry Golding. I can see that the ladies have sparkles in their eyes when Henry was hosting on stage.

There's no celebration without a toast! Here's to the second NARS store in KL and I hope, many more to come in the future!

The celebration party was heated up with performance by the dope Hunny Madu on stage, awesome performance. This is the first time i see her perform in real life I have to say that she's really talented! 

And the next thing we realize is the performance was then joined by Najwa Mahiaddin and Dayang Nurfaizah. These powerhouses performed a few songs and the crowds love them so much and there was even a dance and sing along.

It was a fun night to get to hang out with all the celebs and big names in the makeup industry, together celebrating for NARS' another achievement. Definitely have to thank you all these wonderful people that made the night even better.

François Nars started NARS in year 1994, bet he wouldn't believe back then that he'll be able to place the 2nd store in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Go bold, be audacious and daring, don't settle for anything less than unique! Thank you NARS, definitely gonna make Malaysians go even more courageous in makeup themselves in something special!
