BUTTERFLY PROJECT MALAYSIA CHRISTMAS PARTY 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 to all of you! It's been awhile since I last updated my blog because there are so many events and parties happening for the past few weeks I barely have time to touch my computer or sleep on my own bed lololol. So there's gonna be a series of backlog posts coming up so do bear with me!

First post of the year dedicated to Butterfly Project Malaysia, a blogging community that I'm with since years ago and I am so happy to be the one witnessing the growth of this young community to now 6k members on Facebook! Each and every event I went under Butterfly Project Malaysia never fail to amaze me as our mamasan Tammy really put in all the effort to make sure we enjoy the event/party and always give 200% to people who ask for her guidance.

Mamasan Tammy turn into Santa's elf! Super cute!

Butterfly Project Malaysia's 2018 Christmas Party was held at ChubbeeCloud gift experience store & cafe which is located at Damansara Uptown, it's just a few minutes walk from Uptown Parking building, so needless to worry about parking space. Aside, ChubbeeCloud has some interesting instagrammable spots which you and your friends will enjoy!

Neon light and bath tub photos? Checked!

UFO catcher machine? Checked!
Got lucky after third try!

So this round, Butterfly Malaysia has partnered with Althea Korea to shower us with all the tender, love and care, each of us bring back a HUGE Christmas box specially curated by Althea Korea as our Christmas gift! Most of the products in this Christmas gift box are what I've received as an Althea Angel, hence I gave away some as Christmas gifts to my friends so they can enjoy Althea's products which I've been sharing about!

Thank you so much, Althea Korea

And lucky us, we all get to see the Althea Exclusives products during this Christmas party and all that are now available on Althea Korea's platform! I've tried on the concealer and I love the texture as well as colour tone! Can't wait to get them for myself soon (SHOPPING TIME!).

And we get to suggest what upcoming Althea Exclusives products we wanted to see from the platform. Zihang suggested eyeshadow palette (ooh la la girls will never get bored playing with eyeshadows) and I suggested hair serum. Now we know where our priorities at hahahaha.

Dear Santa Althea, I've been a good girl this year, thanks for showering me so many Althea products!

I guess what's best about this Christmas party is I get to spend time with Zihang, who is a mummy blogger that shares about her skincare routine and makeup products. I super love to read all her posts, she put in so much effort in blogging even though she's a mummy of one cute lil boy. She blogs in Chinese so do follow her if you like to read about reviews of skincare and makeup products.

Both of us are missing Jean right now, who always attend event with us but now no more because she moved to Japan T-T

We took gazillions of photos that day because it's rare for us to attend an event together and that we're both styled up nicely. I even went to dye my hair that morning before the event at FIXX salon! Thank you so much to Kok Wai, my hairstylist for the magical hair colour and hairstyle that suits this theme party! Everybody is literally shook with my hair colour and I forgot how many compliments I got due to my hair colour! Thank you!

I'm like the living unicorn~ Thank you FIXX!

Since we're having a great time together, of course we helped each other snapped tons of photos and selfie as well:

slot in a photo of me and Eros. I super love this sweetie, the photos he took is like professional level! Each and every post got theme and style one! Do follow his blog and IG to get inspired:

This party even have a printout photo booth that allows you to add stickers on your photo! So cute~
This Photo Booth is sponsored by Tagbooth

AND DID YOU SAW THE DESSERT CART IN MY PHOTOS JUST ABOVE? The dessert cart was so pretty it literally was the highlight of this whole party, everybody taking photos nonstop with the dessert cart including me, trying to nail the shot where both dessert cart and myself look cute! This dessert cart was made by AskJoey and I was like: how does one make all these cute lil desserts, so dreamy and magical???!!!!

I've been looking back at this series of photos again and again, amazed by the skill of dessert making as well as dessert table styling. AskJoey's skill is super duper pro, it makes me feel like I wanna throw a party with super magical dessert table styling like above this year!!! I shall see if my budget allows me to do a birthday party lolololol.

Of course, a party isn't a real party when there's no food. All bloggers who attended the Christmas party get to ordered a set of meal which includes one bottle of tea, one cup of signature beverages and  2 sets of sandwiches which including the boba sandwich!

I don't mind a Christmas meal like this!

Super cute mermaid drinks ordered by Zihang

This is mine: cat enjoying onsen bath kinda hot chocolate drink
So cute I cannot!

After trying the boba sandwiches, I actually kinda like it because of the boba's chewy texture but I prefer the kimchi sandwich more because I'm a savoury food lover. So if you love boba and don't mind sweet toast, you will definitely love this boba sandwich from ChubbeeCloud!

Last but not least, a personalised gift from ChubbeeCloud
It's a marshmallow with my photo on it!

What a wonderful Christmas party we've had, and I've known a few new, young bloggers who are currently working hard in blogging as well. They kinda reminds me of who I was many years back and community like this do help each other to grow. Thank you so much Butterfly Project Malaysia, Althea Korea, ChubbeeCloud, AskJoey, Tagbooth  for organizing, hosting and sponsoring such a sweet party to all of us which we enjoyed very much.

Looking forward to see the community grow more in 2019!

Product Review: Wanderlust Things Unicorn Face Brush

Some of us do believe in fairies, mermaids and unicorns, even when we're adults. I do believe in magical fairytales and that got my friends dissing me for being childish and unrealistic. Life is tough for everybody and I guess each of us lost track of that magical feeling that we once own when we're a child.

I don't wanna lose this magical feeling I have inside of me everytime I saw beautiful scenery of mother nature, interesting stuff and happenings, surrounded by amazing people, listen to music that gives me goosebumps etc... I wanna be someone who appreciate small little things in life with passion burning inside of me.

And I'm thankful to have these magical unicorn face brushes to remind me everyday that how amazing I am and how beautiful I'm gonna be. I guess this is the magic of these unicorn brushes that make all the girls on internet goes crazy. This totally break the internet as I've seen many makeup artists and internet celebrities were sharing and asking this unicorn face brushes.

Then come this set of unicorn face brushes that totally change my perception on brushes, them bristles as soft as unicorn fur!!!

Trying them on, I've done my another makeup look using these brushes and I will call this look - Unicorn Makeup look!

Pink eyebrows, shiny eyelids, magical purple-ish highlight with these brushes!

Soirée means a casual gathering with friends,  delicious food, chit chat and a great time spent together in French. If on top of delicious food, there's wine, manicure or pedicure session with your girlfriends, there's nothing can top that seriously.

Although some of the blogger who were invited to the event were the ones I've never meet before, but I know the community is growing bigger and bigger and that's a healthy sign of a community.

The elegant classic interior style of the rebranded Posh Nail Spa is major love!
I remember how they used to be all pink and girly.

I love these nail designs, created by Rachel from Posh Nail Spa
Especially the marble ones!

Wonder Woman Inspired Makeup by W.Lab Pocket Shadow Palette

Have you seen Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman? OH-MY-GOD my each and every breathe was taken away by her cute and innocent gestures as well as her bravery, courageous act and strong belief in bringing peace to the human race. Everything she presented on the big screen sets a very high standard on upcoming female superhero lead.

So I decided to do a Wonder Woman inspired makeup video by using the products I have received on Butterfly Project's 4th Birthday Party (read blog post here). It was difficult to create a makeup that looks effortlessly flawless on Gal Gadot, but I did tried my best and it was fun to do makeup video of such.

(Click Play!)

The eyeshadow palette I used in the video above is W.Lab's Pocket Shadow Palette. My eyes were in heart emojis when I saw this baby in the birthday bag. It contains 10 matte and glitter brown shades that's perfect for my everyday looks.

Perfect size for stay-at-home and travel makeup routine

Look at 'em glitter and tones

Swatches on my yellowish pale skintone
one swipe for each tone, have I told you how much I love them glitter?

So here are all the makeup products I've used to achieve this Wonder Woman inspired look:
  • Face:
-Foundation: 3CE Glossing Waterful Foundation in Natural Ivory
-Concealer: I'm Meme Concealer in Vanilla

  • Eyes:
Eyeshadow:
-W.Lab Pocket Shadow Palette in Calendula, Sunflower, Freesia

and voila!

I love this glowy, healthy makeup look, makeup look as such does empowers me from within and I appear to be more confident and strong, just like how Gal Gadot brings the positive impact in a worldwide scale that we can be pretty, funny, empathic, kind and justice if we believe in ourselves. I'm now looking forward to see her performance in Justice League!

Happy 4th Birthday Butterfly Project Malaysia

If my blog were to count by years/days, this is will be my 12th/11th years of blog writing. It wasn't all-so-fancy when I think about it, blog writing definitely needs patience, perseverance and support and I am so glad that during my early blog writing years, I met the mamasan of Malaysian bloggers - Tammy.

Honestly, I've never seen someone with so much passion when it comes to writing blog and sharing experiences and good deals she came across in her everyday life. I met her in SaSa blogger gatherings 8 or 9 years ago and I'm glad this friendship has been going on for so long and things has become bigger for her as she's one of the person-in-charge in Althea Korea and also the founder of Malaysian fashion/beauty blogger community - Butterfly Project.

This year marks the 4th year of Butterfly Project, a lot of bloggers missed out the first celebration so Tammy decided to throw another party for bloggers to celebrate this wonderful event and she's the one paying for the party. Can you find someone who has so much passion and love when it comes to blogging and the love to see this industry grow? Honestly I can't, she really is the one and only mamasan for this industry, if it's not for seeing her going through her life's ups and downs and still insist in doing what she love + creating opportunities for bloggers, I might have gave up blogging some time ago.

Upon receiving the invite to the party and saw the dress code was pastel, I seriously can't think of anything to wear as nowadays I'm more to monochromatic/casual style. Pastel is really not my thing lolololol so I decided to fully utilise my butterfly washi tape and use them to decorate my plainly drew makeup.

Last minute working on the decoration. Event started at 3pm I'm cutting these butterflies out at cafe beside from 2:30p.m. with shivering hands because I'm too excited. *breathes heavily*

Beautifully decorated venue

There's no birthday party without cake and this cake is major love which later on it became a photo prop to all the bloggers. Jean almost drop it on the floor LOL!

Name cards and stickers for decoration purpose!
Perfect for crafty person like me yay!

TADAAA~! Our birthday bag sponsored by so many brands!
Not our birthday but we get presents! And so many of it! What sorcery is this Butterfly Project!

Here's what we have received inside the birthday bag!!! Totally OH-EM-GEE!!!

One of many Tammy's good traits is when she gives, she give whole-heartedly that you're the one being shy to receive. And this round, thanks to her and the whole Althea team, each and every blogger who attended the party received a birthday bag full of surprise goodies so that we have more things to blog about. I cannot tell you how much I love the products and I've already prepared a few separate blog posts to review them so stay tuned!

Here's a list of what we have received and thanks to all these generous sponsors who loaded the birthday bag with love and joy for each of us:
  • Wanderlust Things Unicorn Face Makeup Brush
  • W.Lab Pocket Shadow Palette
  • Orkid Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks
  • 1028 Bigs Eyes Magnifier Mascara
  • Dolly Wink LiquidEyeliner
  • Mamonde Liquid Eyeliner and Hydro Mist
  • Neesya Cleansing Set
  • Hadabisei Moisturizing Face Mask
  • Clinelle UV Defense
  • Clinelle Hot Body Shaper Cream
  • Adidas Climacool Shower Gel and Deodorant
  • Pax Moly Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
  • Photobook Malaysia book and 4R prints

I guessed you would've know which few are my favourites as I've already started using them and posted in my instagram/insta story. Will do more reviews of these products so be sure you follow my Instagram account as well.

Last but not least, G&G Studiobooth for beautiful photobooth decorations and photo print outs as memorabilia! The printed photos with Jean and Zihang is definitely going into my journal already.

The one and only photo that features me and makeup lol. Thanks Jean!
I've won a NYX makeup goodie bag too for best makeup XD

After seeing all these for a community birthday, can you find someone who has so much passion and love when it comes to blogging and the love to see this industry grow? Honestly I can't, Tammy really is the one and only mamasan for this industry, if it's not for seeing her going through her life's ups and downs and still insist in doing what she love + creating opportunities for bloggers, I might have gave up blogging some time ago.

Seeing Butterfly Project going stronger and stronger, with more younger bloggers joining and senior bloggers like me and Jean staying around, this community is a platform to support each other in blogging industry especially when there are people who wanna exploit and use bloggers as free advertising marketing strategy. Community like Butterfly Project and people like Tammy teaches us that we bloggers do have our own worth and never, ever do anything for free, even bloggers need to eat and live life and there's no free lunch in this world right?

I hope I can continue be invited to the 5th, 6th, 7th and so on birthday of Butterfly Project and continue to be a part of this wonderful community.
