Modern Muse Chic by Estēe Lauder

In my younger days, I'm always doubting myself in whatever I do. Is it right? Is it wrong? What would people say/think about me if I'm doing this? What should I do to make others feel happy? Tons of doubting questions like this going on in my mind, confused myself and of course, things doesn't go well. But you know, good life story always start with something awful, just like all those you've heard from history and so, and that's what makes me the ME I am, and yours makes you!

What inspired Estēe Lauder to launch Modern Muse Chic then? It is the "Be Inspired. Be Bold" kind of attitude that Estēe Lauder want the lady that uses Modern Muse Chic to own. In current judgemental world, it is extremely hard to be yourself. What reminds me of being myself these days? The scent of Modern Muse Chic!

Thank you Estēe Lauder and Butterfly Malaysia, I was among of the few bloggers that got invited to Modern Muse Chic private sharing session where we get up-close and personal with the perfume and discover another side of ourselves. The unique scent of Modern Muse Chic isn't the "Love at first smell" kind but day by day after using, it started to grow on me and now I guess the scent is becoming part of me that I wanted to show to the world.

A special combination of sparkling florals and smooth woods, Modern Muse Chic shows its unique and independent fragrance on each individual, differently. Its rich and complex notes totally compliments a bold, modern urban chic lifestyle lady which is like you and me. Notes made of floral accord, ebony woods accord, Jasmine Sambac China Absolute, Tuberose, Suede Musk and Patchouli, its striking scent kinda represents my personality - daring, adventurous and bold. One amusing fact is that not everyone get the same scent. As mine appears to a more woody scent, Arisa and Shivani ones appear to be more Jasmine, floral type of scent. Isn't it interesting? I guess Modern Muse Chic kinda reveals the inner me to the world through its complexity of scent.



Aside of smelling great that night, me and the fellow bloggers get to enjoy a makeover at the Esteēe Lauder counter to become one true blue Modern Muse Chic!

Gone crazy in front of photobooth trying out all the props and style they've prepared for us. Still like leather jacket rocker style best! It was a fun night for us girls trying out different styles and be ourselves at the same time. I guess we're all more comfortable that night laughing chilling at the lounge area due to the "aromatherapy" of Modern Muse Chic scent! It definitely bring out the bold and daring side of us in front of photobooth that night! Hahahaha.

Of course, girls can't live without ice cream!

Grand Launch of Dior's La Collection Privée at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

And the grand opening of Dior Boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur! June was such a good month isn't? 

In conjunction of the grand launching of Christian Dior's La Collection Privée in Malaysia and also the grand opening of Dior Boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, celebrities and medias and honourable guests were invited to this Dior grand launch party held at Pavilion's Centre Court.

After being the tower among my friends for so long, finally it is my time to be the "bridge" between these two tall models. 

You know, there's something fascinating about Dior that attract ladies to fall in love with this global-known brand. Founded in 1946 by Monsieur Christian Dior, till this day, this French luxury brand is one of the iconic brand in fashion and beauty industry with their own lead of fashion style and beauty products.



Dior's fragrance started in year 1947 with the iconic Miss Dior which was named after the founder's sister - Catherine. Each and every unique scent in La Collection Privée's fragrances are created by the medium-scents like rare Iris Florentina, Somali Incense, Indonesian Oud Wood, Indonesian Patchouli and Ambergis from New Zealand. These exotic ingredients brings your senses to another time and space, just like how Monsieur Francois Demachy describes them: rare ingredients, daring olfactory statements and creations that knows no bounds. And this collection "reflects the freedom that only true luxury can provide, and is a delightful recreation for a Perfumer"

The 13 fragrances from Dior's La Collection Privée are as below:

• New Look 1947 - named after Dior's fashion-changing "New Look" dresses for which is it perhaps best known, and based on the fragrance of tuberose absolute.
• Féve Délicieuse - built around Venezuelan tonka bean absolute and Madagascan Vanilla, its avid appeal and love of harmony naturally espouse the spirit of Dior.
• Gris Montaigne - sophisticated chypre fragrance is a bold interpretation of the Dior Grey; a burst of citrus, a floral heart of Turkish Rose and Jasmine Sambac from the Indian region of Tamil Nadu.
• Ambre Nuit - inspired by the glamorous evening of the 18th century, and tells the tale of a sensual wrapped in amber.
• Grand Bal - Scents of jasmine and tea inspired by the couturier-perfumer's love of grand parties.
• Cuir Cannage - a leather composition intertwine with the fruity notes of a lipstick tinged with rose and violet that conveys and an intimate and sensual scent.
• Granville - named after Monsieur Christian Dior's childhood in the town of the same name in Normandy, and contains pine, rosemary and resin.
• Cologne Royale - inspired by the royal courts of the 18th century and contains bergamot, citrus, earl grey tea and pepper.
• Bois D'Argent - described as a 'vertible perfumer's fantasy' and contains iris florentina with a dry, green and fruity scent.

• Oud Ispahan - inspired by a 'vision of a modern, fantastical Orient' and is a mix of Oud wood, rose, amber, and labdanum absolute.
• Milly-La-Forêt - named after Monsieur Christian Dior's country house and includes white musk.

Pour Homme

23 years of waiting, finally, I got myself a bottle of perfume - Platinum Egoiste by Chanel (1993), perfume for men (Pour Homme) to be exact! LOL!!!!!!!

I think most of the people don't get it, why buy a perfume for men to myself? Me too, don't understand, why I'm so obsess to the smell of Platinum Egoiste. I don't even know what's its scent without google it.

My God - Gackt, uses this perfume ( I guess this helps to explain a bit why I'm totally crazy about this perfume.) and he buy them in cartons or something when he visits France. Crazy enough I know, and that makes me a bit curious, why Platinum Egoiste?

Me and my bunch of ji muisss went over to Chanel counter in Isetan KLCC when we were 17 years old to find out, what's so magical about Platinum Egoiste, until Gackt have to buy stock'em up in his wardrobe.

My my, belum try belum tahu, sudah try hari hari mahu!!! The smell is GOOD!!! Such powerful and totally not those over girly/feminine type of smell! I like it very much!!!

Since then, me and my friends always sneak to Chanel counter and try the sample of Platinum Egoiste. We often get a lot of testing cards and spray LOTS of it, so that we can store them inside our purses or books and get to smell the obsessing smell of Platinum Egoiste.

I remember there's once I even mistakenly sprayed the perfume into my friends mouth because we want to spray them on our school bags without letting those sales assistants caught us in action. Hahahahaha! Such fun memory with my bunch of ji muis and with Platinum Egoiste, I guess that's what make this perfume a special one to me.

Lots of people say that HK airport have the best deal in buying branded stuff, but no, it doesn't seem so. In Malaysia, the normal retail price for this perfume is RM250, and SM bought this at HK for 525HKD, around RM226, it means only about 10% discount.

If HK airport is not that cheap, why all China women going gaga over there for their shopping spree? Do not understand. -_-"

Yes, I know, 200 hundred something is not something very expensive, but I have to think and think and think all over and over again to spend this 200 hundred. It's my hard earn money, I had dilemmas, thinking to spend them on myself or on my baby boy... But I guess I had already made my decision.

Am I a bad mother? Am I selfish? Sometimes I wonder, is it really necessary for me to own this or that in my life, spend on myself rather than for other family members. I have headache in making decisions.

Somehow, there's a lil voice in my heart saying: You're just a woman, you have to love yourself and pamper yourself sometimes. Life isn't only about others, how about you yourself?

Yeah, sometimes I forgot that, I have to love myself too.

LOL! I don't even know what is Petitgrain, Clary Sage, Geranium, Galbanum, Vetiver, Labdanum and Treemoss!!! But yet, I love the smell! 

Am totally agreed with some of the reviewers saying that instead of just smelling 3 notes per layer like some other perfume, Platinum Egoiste totally showed us the combination of all layers of scent, creating a powerful yet confidence and fearlessness aura.

BEWARE: Do not try if you're one of the faint of heart, totally unbearable for those fearsome weaklings when it comes to powerful smells of perfume. ;)
