AsterSpring Sparkling Secret's Journey

Christmas came rather early this year! Thanks to AsterSpring, I've embarked on discovering their Sparking Secret's Journey last month and have learnt so many things about glowing skin health tips which helps beautify me from inside out. It was a fun event happened at AsterSpring One Utama centre and I saw so many familiar faces during the event.

When I got AsterSpring's email inviting me to this event, I was a bit confused as it sounded like a journey to a trip, and yes indeed, it was a trip to rediscover how to be beautiful and glow radiantly from inside to outside as a woman who cherish and pamper herself. It was a rather informative event for me to gain more knowledge how to take good care of myself and look beautifully and be healthy.

My first stop will be - The Innertreats Zone

It's all about enzyme

Well, I thought I knew what I knew about my skin, but guess this skincare zone proved that I was wrong. As skin changes along with the hormones in your body and also weather and environment, I will never know what are the changes that my skin is going through and it is always good to keep updating yourself of your skin condition by getting your skin checked by Dermalogica's staff.

I've got combination type skin which make it harder to deal with. My skin needs extra care at some areas and little less attention at some, and the staff kindly suggested that I do light exfoliation every 2 to 3 days to keep my skin fresh and anew, so that the oily skin areas can take a breathe for lessen up dead skin cells that's been piling up and also unclog the oily pores. She suggested that Daily Microfoliant from Dermalogica is able to help better my skin condition. 

Was given these to try at home

I'm not a big fan of Dermalogica due to unfamiliarity towards the brand but most of my friends are! They've been using Dermalogica for quite some time and I've heard positive comments bout the brand now and then. I've only managed to get one out of three rings lol but it was an Aroma Smoothing Treatment session! Woohoo! Can't wait to try out their treatment session soon. 

Next is mark my favourite zone of all - Relaxing Zone.

I've lost track ever since when, massage has become one of my favourite relaxing moment when it comes to revitalising and rejuvenating my body and mind. This Relaxing Zone made me miss Thai massage even more! 

My masseuse of the day

My my she has a pair of soft and gentle hands and yet she manage to find those tired spots and nerves of mine and soothe them out with massage and also using Tisserand Aromatherapy oil. Well, one of the shortest stay among of all zones - Haircare zone. Due to my heavily bleached hair, there's really nothing to take care of except to keep my hair frizz free and shiny. But still, an examine of my hair growth condition is needed, I'm kinda worry that bleaching will cause hair loss or something so let's see....

And the result is quite promising! I don't have hair loss problem, and I guess my hair growth is in a pretty healthy state despite I've been bleaching my hair for more almost two years. My only concern is that my bleached hair are getting brittle, pretty damaging if not taking good care of it. Thanks to staff of Davines gave me some moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to try at home.

It is through the makeup demo by Philip only I realize how powerful the coverage of YoungBlood mineral cosmetics is. The Sparkling Secret's journey ended with a short makeup competition where we can create our favourite makeup looks by using YoungBlood makeup. 5 girls a team trying to doll up an AsterSpring staff, kinda tortured by us I guess hahahaha sorry! Anyway it was fun to help others do their makeup, especially with full range of products available for me to choose from weeeee!!!

Thank you so much AsterSpring for this wonderful Sparkling Secret journey. It has once again taught be to be beautiful from inside out and I'm definitely gaining more knowledge about the products as well as skincare tips than before. The Café at Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, Setapak

I've been living around Royal Selangor factory for 20 years, I've been on a trip visiting the factory with my grandfather when I was 12 and it was one of the fondest memory I had with him. Seeing how the skillful workers made pewter products out from the boiling hot liquiefy pewter really amazed me! 

Few years back there was this building constructed right beside the factory but I didn't thought of made a visit there, until recently my friend ask me to hang out at The Café at Royal Selangor Visitor Centre only I realize there's this quaint cafe located right inside the visitor centre. What I've been missing all along!

This quaint little café located right at the corner of the Royal Selangor showroom, where there are various types of seating available for your preference, various of cakes and coffee available to order and friendly staffs who always serving you with smiling face! Their lunch menu is specialty of the day and I've tried their nasi goreng kampung with fried chicken and it's delicious! My friend recommended me their chicken rice. Gotta check out what day it will be!

Well I wouldn't say that they have the perfect cuppa for caffeine lovers but they are quite decent. Their lattes taste more on the milky side, so wouldn't have any problem falling asleep at night, and I love their Oreo cheesecake! So creamy, smooth and yet not too sweet, which make a perfect combo with my cup of coffee.

My looks of the day that matches the mood

It's no joke that most of my friends who stayed/staying around Setapak area haven't been to The Café at Royal Selangor Visitor Centre before, so I would say that this place is a sanctuary for me, as there wouldn't be crowd of cafe goers and little less hoo-hah which allows you to enjoy the peaceful environment a little more.

Black Kill by W .Lab

It's time for facial cleaning again after all those late nights and party, and thanks to Althea Korea, who made Korean facial products shopping a breezy one, these authentic Korean facial products such as the one I'm gonna review now, can be easily bought online and send to your house! No stress no fuss! Hooray to Korean facial regime!

Black Kill by W.Lab, although it's not a big hype here in Malaysia, but definitely they created a black storm back in Korea with all their amazing pore cleansing and tightening products. Their packaging are so cool, all in black, definitely for some cool girls like me!

I really love their cool, solid black packaging so much! And since I know nothing about their products, hence I went online google the usage instruction and saw so many Korean testimonials about the products, hence it boost my confidence towards Black Kill that it's gonna be some good pore cleansing products. 

So I'll start off with a photo of my bare face. Feeling awkward as I've not showing my bare face to barely anyone lately. *shy*

Really do hope Black Kill products will do wonders in clearing all my pore problems. 

First, I'll start with Black Kill's pore cleanser Black Kill Stick. This is a cool product as there's this silicon bristles brush attach on top, a button at side and all you have to do is just press the button...

 And the cleanser will flow on the silicon bristles. So amazing right!



Next is applying the cleanser on your face, with a circular motion. There's this cooling sensation of the cleanser that make pore cleansing appealing using Black Kill Stick. Just brush the silicon bristles light on you face in upward circular motion, till you feel that it's time to rinse the cleanser off.

Now pore cleansing is so easy that hands on face aren't required anymore! Hah! Their soft silicon bristles will throughly cleanse dirts that are clogged in your pores, leaving you clean pores like you never had before. Besides cleaning up dirt and blackheads that's been clogging your pores, it has also pore tightening, sebum control, exfoliation, pore tightening and removal of fine dust effect.



To make pore tightening a more enhanced effect, I use Black Kill Pore Tightening Pack immediately after the pore cleanser. I focus on my T-Zone, nose and cheek area instead of whole face, those areas has more enlarged pores compared to the rest of my face.

I think I didn't apply enough of the pack on my face, should've layered it more. Anyway, I can really feel the intense, pulling feeling after the pack dries off on my face, it starts being wrinkled if I move my face muscles too much, which indicates it is time to rinse it off with lukewarm water.

And voila!

Although it is just first trial of the products, feeling the effect right after both products really gave me a feeling if I carry on my facial cleansing routine with these two products, they will be giving me a longer, lasting effect on cleansing and tightening my pores, giving me a smoother looking skin!

Ice cream, love by many and yet it is so hard to find nice ones around, don't you think so? But fret not, as Freshy Freeze is now opened at Nu Sentral, right in the heart of KL!

Some of you who often goes to Bangkok for travel purpose you may have seen Freshy Freeze located at Central World as well as other Central Shopping Centres around Thailand. Some of you may wonder, what does it mean by "Liveshow Serving Here", and where are all the ice creams that's on the menu? I don't see no ice cream in the shop! After searching high and low, only I realize all the ice cream of Freshy Freeze are freshly made! On the spot right after customer place their order.

Making fresh ice cream step by step

The liquid mixture of ice cream were pour onto a frying pan that's freezing in -22 Celsius degree, the liquid mixture froze within seconds and you can start scraping the ice cream off the pan, keep tossing and turning the ice cream until it is all dry and solidify, then you can scoop it out from the pan and start decorate it with toppings of your choice.

Without freezing your ice cream overnight like usual ice cream parlour, freshly made ice cream like Freshy Freeze's are tasteful, smooth, doesn't melt easily, and most of all, doesn't have the ice bits that froze in between ice cream that "polluted" ice cream taste. Aside from ice cream, Freshy Freeze prepared the freshest toppings as well, making your ice cream tasting experience an awesome one!

Strawberry Cheesecake is one of Freshy Freeze's hot seller. Smooth cheesecake accompanied by the sweet and sour strawberry bits, mixed and fry with the ice cream, each and every spoonful of vanilla ice cream are burst with the flavour of cheesecake and strawberries, leaving you wanting more and more.

Banana Flambé with French Crêpe, RM25

If you know your flambé, you'll definitely noticed something missing in this dessert as there are no alcohol to this flambé, but it tastes pretty close so you'll get the hang of it. In order to cater the needs of muslim customers, as well as kids, this dish contains no alcohol but taste equally good! Soft banana pieces and french crêpe soaks in the sauce, paired with fresh vanilla ice cream, mm-mm~ so good!

To be honest, I would list Cappuccino Calling as my favourite of all I've tried that night, because as a coffee addict, I find Cappuccino Calling is the perfect cup of coffee dessert I would want everyday. Fresh coffee ice cream with the amount of sweetness that's just right, smooth foam and also thick, aromatic espresso shots, it is literally heaven for coffee lover!

Last but not least:

Belgian Chocolate with Almond and Oreo combo, RM15

If Cappuccino Calling is for coffee lover, Belgian Chocolate definitely curated for chocolate addicts. Thick Belgian chocolate ice cream, with crunchy almond bits and also tons of Oreo cookies, this is one cup that no dessert lover will reject. 

Another great perks of having Freshy Freeze as desserts is aside being freshly made on the spot, there are no colourings and preservatives added into any of their ice creams, serving only premium grades desserts to all ice cream lovers. We definitely had so much ice cream that night and yet I'm wanting it more now! Definitely gonna go back for their Cappuccino Calling soon.
