It-Girl-Wannabe Secret Shopping Guide

Shoutout to all the aspiring IT girls on a budget who are living around Klang Valley, because the new hotspot of shopping haven is just around the corner. Few weeks ago, me and my friends went to visit Genting Premium Outlet because we wanted to see what's available there and see if those things are really cheap. So let's find out!

Arrive Genting Premium Outlet at 5pm and left at 10pm.
My friends literally shop till clock stops!

There are 150 branded outlet stores at Genting Premium Outlets, the one that has the longest queue gotta be Coach. And there's Moschino, Charles & Keith, Pedro, Adidas, Furla, Kate Spade etc just to name a few. I think most customers went to Coach bcs they have 50% by then.

Buka puasa period also long queue. We gave up after queueing for 5 mins lol.

For me, as a it-girl-wannabe but on a strict budget, I find that these outlet doesn't offer discount as low as the Johor outlets. It may appear cheap compare to normal store prices but for most of the stores they doesn't really qualified as season clearance cheap cheap. So I'ma give you a few tips on shopping when you're on a strict budget:

  • Avoid buying something just because it is cheap:
At premium outlet as such, it is not hard to find that cheap lil pouch's price goes lower than you usually spot in shopping malls. Is the design really suits your fashion style? Is it something useful? Will you use it again and again? If all the answer are NO, hence you really shouldn't buy it. It isn't called shopping if you do, it is called wasting.

Wear layered clothing while shopping around Genting Premium Outlet really is fun, at least you can wear those thick leather jacket that you haven't gotten chance to wear around KL

Did you spot any shoes that you're eyeing at Charles & Keith?
They have up to 70% discount for some collection

Secondly:

  • Plan what you need/what to buy before you go shopping:
Or else you'll just grab anything you can because everything is below normal retail price. I've seen quite a few pairs of full white Adidas sneakers that goes as low as RM180/pair. Affordable yes, but do I really need them? No. Because I've just bought some new shoes recently, although they aren't Adidas but they are in white too so... Sorry Adidas, next round probably.

For the sport/casual it girls, you might wanna check out Adidas store
They might have limited edition sneakers and beautiful sweat suits in your size

Then I was told Puma store has this buy two free 1 promotion going on and my friend Jade bought 3 sport bras for about RM100. Sneakers are worth of value too. I kinda hope they will carry Fenty Puma collection soon tho.

  • On a budget? Stick to the classics:
Do not splurge on highly identifiable pieces if you're an avid fashion trend follower because the cost-per-wear is high and they're out of season in just a blink and you wouldn't wanna wear them two seasons in a row. Buy a classic, nice white top, a pair of good fitting jeans, a pair of elegant loafers (or heels if you prefer girly style on casual days), these items are gonna go wayyyy longer than that fuschia bralettes.

Topshop,Topman, Ms Selfridge etc have up to 80% sales
Too bad they don't have anything that catches my eyes at the moment

I went around Topshop store hoping to find something good and end up bought one of this:

In need a pair of sunnies~
Plus these are just RM13.20!

  • Don't dress seasonally:
So what if I like statement pieces like those Kate Spade banana leaf and banana bag as below?

Then you just have to ditch your fashion rule book. By adding layers and change a bit here and there, summer outfits are fit for winter too. Long summer dress with turtleneck and a short leather jacket? I'm in! This banana leaf bag is major love from Kate Spade but due to its lack of space (I'm a hoarder) so I'ma leave it out from my shopping list.

Overall, Genting Premium Outlet is like a treasure trove that you might need to search high and low for some really great deals. For example, City Chain's Titus watch for RM620 is totally a steal. My friend bought one on the spot and it looks exquisite. Do check out G2000 and Braun Büffel too as they are really cheap according to those who knows the brand.

Some of the stores are still under renovation and the whole outlet aren't 100% fully operating yet, so I'm looking forward towards my next visit and hopefully I could find some really good deals among the stores. I'm definitely hope you gain something throughout my it-girl-wannabe secret shopping guide too.

Camellia Hill, Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island

The signature flower of Chanel's creation is the Camellia, you're able to spot the emblems on the brand's clothes, shoes, the famous sandals that most of my friends were crazy over. Gabrielle Chanel’s adoration of the camellia flower begins a gift from a charming man who captured her heart forever. His name was Boy Capel and was a very wealthy man by the time he met Chanel.

Although their love affair was brief and ended tragically, camellia left an unforgettable mark in Gabrielle Chanel's heart and has become her beloved flower. During my trip to Korea's Seoul and Jeju last November, we decided to pay a visit to Camellia Hill located at Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island. Getting there wasn't hard if you're driving and have the access to internet, just waze: Camellia Hill and it will lead you there.

To be honest, it was a mistake to do so because during November (start of winter season), not much flowers bloom and the whole arboretum were more to brown/green than colourful. It is advisable to go during spring or summer time so you'll be able to witness full bloom scenery and get to see different types of flowers.

All for one and one for all~

The admission fee is 7000won per adult, so after currency exchange is about RM28 per visit. We went quite late in the afternoon, so we're basically the last group to go in. Last admission is one hour before closing, and operating hours vary between seasons, do check out the information of this arboretum in the end of this post.

Dol Hareubangs (large rock statues) inside Camellia Hills
These rock statues has become Jeju Island's symbol and can be found everywhere.
They are considered to be gods that provide fertility and offers protection, often found at the entrance to protect demons from traveling between realms.

I went to Korea with Peiyue and her family members, so it felt like a huge group. It was fun, free and easy to travel with this bunch, most of the time is just me and Peiyue walking around non-stop snapping photos. I like easy travel partners minus all the drama. (But probably I'm the drama queen in other's eyes?!?!?! who knows...)

One blurry group photos before we split into smaller groups

Located at a plot of land as huge as 172,000 square metres, Camellia Hill has 6,000 camellia trees of 500 different species. Aside from camellias, this arboretum is home to palm trees, wildflowers, bushes, fruit plants etc. If you check out their Instagram, you're able to see that it's covered by beautiful hydrangeas now! (I wanna take photos with all the hydrangeas~ )

Sun is setting already when we're just started to tour around the arboretum lolololol

One of the perks when you're traveling with me is that I'll snap few hundreds of you for your all types of social media platform posting needs hahahahahaha. I think at one point she got quite annoyed because I keep snapping her photos and she totally run out of posing ideas lolololol.

Sorry to say but now only I realize the flowers behind kinda resembles cemetry flowers you saw on grave....

I love you too!

White camellias are everywhere, very instagrammable
Imagine if you're here during full bloom

Pink camellias

Calming my rushing pace inside a Korean traditional stone house

Oh how I miss traveling with you guys~

Different tone of green

Jeju is famous for their mandarin oranges but I'm pretty sure these aren't for consuming purpose lol

Different type of flowers found inside huge glasshouse

I can do live sketching here seriously

One of the happiest thing I've done - hugging a tree!
It's feel like the peaceful energy were transfering to me through this hugging process.

beautiful pathway made of tree branches and lights

Let me tell you a bit of side story:

While we're joking and snapping photos while walking through this pathway, there's this couple walk past us and we can feel the girl is furious with the heavy pace. After the bf finally catch up with her, she went hysterical because he didn't take nice and proper photos of her at the pathway because the background is clustered with other visitors a.k.a us and other groups.

Kinda pity this guy at the same time I have to remind myself that now I have a bf and I shouldn't take advantage of him and go all rage and angry just because he couldn't take instagrammable photos. (I could go on about all the ugly photos he took of me for days!) Different aesthetic views leads to different angles and perspectives taken in a photo, hence what I perceive as beautiful might be ugly in someone's opinion.

Hence girls, if you were trying to teach your partner to become Instagram bf/husband, please put extra patience in it. Things might not turn out well at first but if they really make effort to help you take photos, at least take a deep breath and say thank you.

Okay let's go back to what's left of Camellia Hill:

Super pretty berry bushes

This beautiful Hanok located on top of a hill which I believe is the peak point of Camellia Hill
And from there, we witness....

One of the prettiest sunset at Jeju!

At the exit, I thought it was "artistic" to sit in the middle of nowhere and asked Peiyue to take this photo of me but no,
this photo looks hilarious but here ends our visit to Camellia Hill

Can you imagine all the full blooms if the timing of visit is right? Scrolling through Camellia Hill's recent instagram updates makes me wanna go back! It is a nice place to visit, some long walks, photos taking and cafe sipping if you weren't in a rush. I heard they have lodging facilities too so do phone over for inquiries as they provide information in Korean, English, Japanese and Mandarin.

7 Days To A Brand New You

One week, 7 days, what can I achieve? Time flies by before anyone notice and it's July already! Look back to the previous six months of year 2017, I should feel embarassed that there's not much I've achieved for the past half year. So I'ma make up to it and start this 7 Days Law of Attraction to-do-list and see what unfolds in my life:

  • Day ONE: Think of what to manifest

This should be something small and easy to achieve, but it has to be something that you really want and compatible for the plan of your life. Once it's done, it will light you up from the inside and make you feel passionate for the rest of the week, e.g: strike up a new friendship, use RM100 to buy that dress you've been eyeing, say yes to a social gathering and etc.

Think carefully of what you want, then write down in a piece of post it note and stick it somewhere you can see everyday. It will remind you the positivity to manifest in your life.

Changing hair colour or hairstyle can spice things up in life, that's what I like to do when my lifestyle has become stagnant

  • Day TWO: Affirmations
Come up with a set of affirmations that are linked with this week's goal, such as: I'm going to look up the hair colour chart and choose the colour I like most or I'm gonna try on that dress I've been eyeing. At the same time, tell people about your goals, but choose them wisely as the should be positive and have an encouraging mindset towards what your goal is. Friends like this will help us channel our positive energy into our goals and enhanced our belief in the ability to manifest what we want.

THIS BUNCH!
Although they like to burn each other, but when it comes to low self-esteem or life problems, they are the ones that stood me up and assured me I'm worthy of anything! Thank you guys!

  • Day THREE: Practice clear visualization
Imagine a clear, vivid visual of what you will like to manifest: you imagine yourself in new hair colour, in that new dress, having a great time with friends etc. To enhance the visualization, create a mood/vision board. Add any words, pictures, materials that feels right and represents your goal.

art pieces I like from the Collective | Individuals at Urbanscapes 2017

  • Day FOUR: Act "as if"
It sounds tricky but in order to work towards goal in life is to act "as if" you already owned it. If you were to buy that dress, act as if you already own that dress and feels confident in it. Keep believing that the things that you want is coming, never ever tell yourself otherwise.

  • Day FIVE: Make a gratitude list

Think of the things you already have that is similar to the goal in your life such as that pretty dress you bought last season and got everyone complimented. Focus on the feelings of gratitude evoked from having those things in life.

This list-making activity focuses on the manifestation potential that you already know you have and channeled the energy and attention into what your goal is and will definitely give it a good boost of confidence.

Looking at my journal makes me happy because I can keep track of what I've achieved so far and it gave me a confidence boost to what's coming in my life

  • Day SIX: Look for opportunities
Opportunities are all around us, when we channel our focus into achieving a certain goal in life, an open-minded approach towards our search and inspiration will open up our eyes to certain method that we did not realize it was there all along. If you're looking for and earning an extra RM50-RM100/per day, you'll probably start to notice side jobs such being an uber driver or such will help you achieved your target. Opportunities and chances are all around us, even in unlikely places, we just have to keep our options, eyes and mind open.

  • Day SEVEN: Share your result
On the final day, write down your result in your journal, on a piece of paper or even on your facebook status. Look back your experience and see if there's anything you could've done better and if you've done mistakes. Mistakes are life's greatest teacher and they are golden opportunities to learn and improve ourselves from time to time. So don't be afraid of making mistakes.

I've made quite some mistakes when it comes to choosing skincare products that aren't suitable to my skin. I have quite confusing combination skin type so it is hard to find skincare that can take care my whole face without jeopardise certain skin area.

At the same time I wanted to slow down ageing as fast as I could, so when NUTOX came out with a 7 day programme, I'm IN! Without paraben, colourant and mineral oil, this whole set of NUTOX skincare set really change my skin to a better condition after 7 days.

From left to right:
Cleansing Foam, Moisturising Lotion and Advanced Serum Concentrate

  • Cleansing Foam:
I love how foamy this cleansing foam is. It cleans my pores thoroughly without leaving any signs of dirts and residues on my skin. I can immediately notice my skin has brighten up after wash, smoother and finer as well. (Hence now my face and neck has become two different tone T_T)

  • Moisturizing Lotion:
Ultra right, non greasy and easy absorption, this moisturizing lotion makes my skin feels supple and refreshing on every application. With SPF25PA++, I can now protect my skin from harmful UV rays too even when I'm at home.

  • Advanced Serum Concentrate:
This newly formulated lightweight serum speeds up my skin's restoration and rejuvenation due to its tons of hyaluronic acid in it, my skin feels moisturised and yet bouncy when touch. I like the smooth, fine feeling of skin whenever I apply this serum on my face.

After the basic 1-2-3 skincare step, here comes to complete the day and night facial care routine with the day cream and night cream:

Anti Ageing Day Cream

Infused with birdnest collagen and botanical extracts, it rebuilds the bonding effect of my skin between collagen and elastin, leaving my skin firmer with lifting effect after each application. It is non greasy and easy to absorb, my skin tone looks more even and lines are smoothen too.

Night Repair Cream

This night repair cream is packed with goodies from the day cream, and it has a more moisturizing effect, that my skin feels nourished and moisturized till the next morning even though I'm sleeping in an airconditioned room. It also improved my skin tone and complexion with its micro-circulation content, my skin looks fair and less yellowish for now.

I made a short video to show you how I usually apply my skincare routine, using whole set of NUTOX skincare products:

7 days to a brand new you from inside and outside isn't something impossible, if you put your mind into it, you'll be amaze by how much potential you have in it, and that's what I like about NUTOX skincare products - the potential of stay young and fair isn't a dream anymore.
