Smile Even If It Hurts

90% of people who met me in my life will ask me this question: Why don't you go do braces and straighten up your teeth? 

When I was in secondary school, I wasn't someone cheerful and smile as much as I would today. I'm usually the tallest girl in class, hence my seat will always be the last row. Classmates who don't really know me would often refer me as "that cocky girl", because I don't smile often. Why? Because I have low self confidence due to my teeth.

I have crooked teeth, and that's not a secret. At the same time, due to scary memories of childhood being "tortured" throughout the 6 years of my primary school life by dentist and nurses, I've developed Dental Phobia since then and I've never seen one in my life till this day. And back then, there's a lot in the plate for my family, hence I don't wanna burden them with something that's not a "necessity" in life.  Smiling has been something painful to me ever since as I cared too much how people would think about my crooked teeth and awkward smile.

MT Expo Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion, KL

MT Expo is finally here in Malaysia and its first pop-up store is now operating at centre court, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and I finally managed to visit the expo with my girl friend Peiyue last night! I have not visit any MT Expo before this and this is pretty much exciting for me as I love collecting masking tapes ever since I started on journalling.

The expo will be held from 27th July till 7th August, 10a.m.-10p.m.

MT is the pioneer of Japanese washi paper tape making company which produced by a 100 years old company namely Kamoi Kakoshi. The company specializes in making manufacturing masking tapes for various application purposes including industrial and decorative. If you're a fan of journalling and handcrafts, MT tapes is like the Prada of masking tapes as they are special, unique, and can be somewhat expensive. Yet, collectors from all over the world are going crazy collecting MT tapes whenever there are new collections launched.

Kat Von D Beauty x Sephora Malaysia

Fans of dark gothic beauty and wild colour makeups, Kat Von D has finally landed in Malaysia and so glad I'm able to head over Sephora this morning to have a quick look at the makeup products that Sephora carries. (They are available via online too!)

Sephora approached Kat Von D to create her makeup line back in year 2008 and the brand has gained itself loyal followers and a cult of #KvDLook and also the brand's #VeganAlert pledge that their products doesn't contain any animal products, by-products and has not been tested on animal. How's that! 

This high performance brand which specifies in long-wear, high pigment and full coverage has become a global beauty phenomenon. The packaging of each and every product has been carefully designed and they are so goth I just can't keep my eyes off them. There are so much "wah" and "wow" when we're browsing through KvD's products on the shelf. 

Hasn't got the chance to try on the brand's eye makeup nor eyeliner due to I already had my full makeup on, I decided to try KvD's famous Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in "Lolita". (Wanted to try on "Echo", a dark blue lipstick but the shade doesn't suit my look today boo! Maybe next time!)

Channeling my inner Kat Von D

HOMAIGAWD I really love this matte-looking everlasting liquid lipstick. Just two layers of this creamy formulated lipstick it turns to true matte finishing and the long-lastingness of this lipstick is crazy. I've been drinking and eating since I put it on and the lipstick stays there like freshly put on. Talk about the perfect lipstick for outings and datings, this has to be it.



I'm having a hard time deciding which shade to buy... Echo or Lolita? Or probably the famous pitch-black Witches? I think I'll have to start writing my Sephora wish list from now on.

The Taste of Happiness

Aside of being a feeling, Happiness is also a taste. I feel like I could taste happiness everytime I went to Yashi-no-mi and eat their mentaiko omuraisu. (read my blog about it here and Jean's recent post here which is 100% well-written than mine.) The taste of happiness never left since I first try it and whenever I needed a comfort food, there's where I'll go. 

Life is so damn hard when your friends are all attached and having the time of their life. Who's gonna pity me and give me some hug and words of encouragement when I'm sad? Okay, maybe my friends are there for me for most of the time, but still the feeling of belonging isn't quite there. And I really don't mind having that special someone in my life. 

Probably having that special cheese tart can be quite close enough to feel happiness again? Melting cheese tart is a thing in the food industry of Kuala Lumpur now. Each and every bakery seems to come out with their own melting cheese tart, and I'm glad that the first melting cheese tart I had was Tokyo Secret.

Using high quality cheese imported from Japan, Tokyo Secret's melting (hanjyuku) cheese tart are freshly baked and hot from oven upon ordering. The shop is filled with aroma of cheese tart and I already started to drool on my first step into the shop.

The melting cheese tart taste best right after purchase as the melting texture is there (caution content's  hot) and the crispy tart crust is just the best combo with the cheese filling. Each bite leading for more lust towards it and before you realize, you might just overstuff yourself with this cheesilicious tart. lol. It is really mind blowing if you never had any melting cheese tart in your life before, life-changing dessert that will rewrite the definition of happiness. 

Hokkaido Mountain with Okinawa Purple Potato

There's another less-known dessert serve by Tokyo Secret which is their Japan-imported ice cream. They are so milky and smooth, when paired with okinawa purple potato, the dessert's moderate sweetness is refreshing. A perfect after-cheese-tart dessert I supposed?




Tokyo Secret is actually located opposite Starbucks and beside Mac City. It's a bit hard to notice if you just walk pass the place without looking into Mac City, but that doesn't stop the crowd rush into Tokyo Secret and queue up for freshly baked melting cheese tart everyday.




I'm glad I already had them twice and yet I'm craving for more. I'm so greedy when it comes to self-indulgence and wanting the feeling of happiness. Well just let me okay since I'm a single and lonely doge lolololol.
